We booked this property for a last minute roadtrip to Tennessee with our dogs. The property lists a maximum of two dogs but the lister was great about working with us to allow our 3 small breed dogs to attend. First, and most importantly, our dogs had a fantastic time. They thought the cabin was amazing. They loved the open space, all the windows to look out, and being able to run up and down the stairs. It was clear they felt totally at home. From the human perspective, I'll go through the pros and cons:
Pros:
-The cabin is a newer build so the kitchen, bathrooms and fixtures are modern
-Washer and dryer included
-The beds were super comfortable!
-The view is spectacular!
-Plenty of towels provided.
-Felt very warm, cozy and homey.
Cons:
-The cabin did not seem very clean, which is something I saw other reviewers comment on as well. It was clean in the main, noticeable areas. But in the less viewed, harder to reach areas you could tell it was seriously overlooked. The corners of the stairs, behind the toilet, the corners of the rooms, at the base of the kitchen counter, etc. Basically all the areas dust blows to and collects looked like they were not touched in a long time. I think a good, thorough, deep-clean of all the hard-to-reach areas is in order.
-Location. When we booked this property, it was simply listed as being in Pigeon Forge. The address was withheld until booking for safety reasons. When we finally did receive the address, we realized the cabin was a solid 30 minute drive from any activities in Pigeon Forge. I think it should be disclosed on the listing that it is actually 30 minutes from Pigeon forge.
Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our time at the Lazy Bear Retreat and wish we could have stayed longer. I would definitely return to stay here or recommend this place to family and friends.
