The city view at Dorsett Shanghai was nice, the location across from Century Park was perfect and the staff were all friendly. I also liked having a weight scale in the bathroom. However breakfast was the same thing every day (I stayed 5 days) and same songs played on a loop. The dining area of the breakfast buffet was freezing (as if A/C was stuck on). To the point everyone ate with their coats on. But the worst part was that the bed was extra hard, like sleeping on concrete. Perhaps they can get a thick mattress topper to fix this issue. I had to change hotels, because the bed hurt my hips and back.

Always a pleasant experience when staying at A Dorsett hotel. Firstime staying Shanghai and was so pleased. Wish i had a longer stay. Hotel is just right across the Century park. Has the Exit 4 of Line 2 Metro Subway just below the building and 2 other exits a few meters away. A KFC and Luckin coffee too right next to Exit 4 Line 2 Subway... and McDonald's a few meters that is also close by Exit 1 of the Subway.

This is a very nice hotel, and deserves the commendation for that by all means. However, the star player is absolutely the bartender Thomas. Thomas is personable, entertaining, and makes amazing drinks. he is immensely experienced at what he does, and has fantastic recommendations based on his master level of knowledge. we were sad to leave him behind, when checking out.

The hotel looks really fancy however there are hints of it being old. The staff was helpful and they also provide a few pamplets that include things to see and do in Shanghai. The hotel is a little bit away from the city centre so it's good for people who like things quiet. There is a huge park right behind the hotel where you can go for a good walk, and there is a street full of good restaurants right after the hotel. I will definitely stay here again if I come to Shanghai.
