I planned to Stayed here 2 nights with my mother-in-law, wife, stepson and infant daughter. First impression of this property was that it was very clean and well set up, but in a sketchy neighborhood.
Later that night we started to see earwig bugs all around, including one in our bed. I messaged the host that I would like a refund so that I can get a hotel. She ignored my request and said that they would get someone in to spray for bugs the following morning. She said the bugs were bad because of the recent rains.
The owner came and sprayed everywhere, but didn’t slow these guys down. Later that evening we started seeing them in every room, so I messaged the host asking what could be done. She asked for proof, which there was no shortage of. She didn’t give me a straight answer, so I asked for half of the money back, which she found unreasonable. I really should have asked for a full refund.
She then told me to stop wasting our time, as I was ruining HER weekend getaway with her family, and sent $100 refund and stopped responding to me.
Around midnight, my wife discovered 2 of them crawling on her Gatorade bottle when she went to take a drink. We then decided to pack up and drive 3.5 hour home with our 2 kids and no sleep.
This host has a lot to learn about one off situations. Hospitality is a 24 hour business and it’s what you sign up for. As bugs are crawling next to my infants bed, you don’t get to complain that I’m interrupting your getaway.
