It was a cozy 2 bedroom cabin close enough to town to run out for dinner but far enough away to have a quiet country feel. The small road its on has such little traffic you could count the daily cars on one hand. The bed was so comfortable Im now tasked to find one for home. Cell service was spotty for 2 of the 3 carriers we had but the wifi compensated allowing easy access to call home and check on the kids. It was a very nice get away and the host was very thoughtful and accommodating offering suggestions for dinner venues. It's definitely on our short lists of favorite places to stay.
I needed a place to stay and celebrate Christmas with my daughter that lives in Somerset. I wanted something that would feel "homey" for the holiday and this was definitely it! We enjoyed cooking meals-there is nothing you need aside from groceries! We enjoyed sitting by a fire in the back yard, the road is very nice to take a walk on, no traffic to speak of. Just as it states, it is only a few miles outside of town but feels very remote, which I loved. I saw some reviews about outdated things, but honestly, it was exactly as described-a cabin look and feel. If I wanted updated and fancy, I could have stayed in a fancy hotel. I will definitely stay here again when I visit town. Aaron, thank you for the hospitality and having such a perfect little get away rental!
This cabin is located in such a peaceful setting. I think we counted about 10 cars that drove by in the 4 days we were there. The cabin was cute and cozy.
PROS: Full of character & charm. The property is exactly as listed. Great value for families. Well equipped with all the amenities for a stay with families.
CONS: Furnishings are dated & well used, carpet very stained & well worn (Iâm sure itâs clean but because the carpent is so worn and has several stains, it feels dirty,)
We had the best time staying at Grandma's Peace. You are far enough away from the town to enjoy the peace and quiet but close enough to get anything you need. We were basically just at the house to shower and sleep. It seemed to have any kitchen amenities you would need. There was plenty of toys/books and board ganes for the kids. Putaide thereare bokes and a scooter to ride. The outside looked very relaxing but the mosquitoes were terrible and we had a newborn with is so I didn'tget to enjoy it with the family. The futon bed in the master bedroom was perfect for middle of the night feeds without waking anyone else. Our only complaint is the water pressure isn't great but you cam have that anywhere. The sweet neighbor dogs came over to play and our 1 year old loved them. She kept calling him Big Dog.
We absolutely loved the home. We were amazed that this beautiful home was built by the grandparents. I enjoyed the digital pictures and knowing the history of the family. It was so beautiful, peaceful, and relaxing. The location was perfect. Aaron was so amazing and accommodating. We travel a lot but this has been our favorite home by far. We will definitely stay at this location again. My whole family gives it a 5 star.
It was a beautiful area of Kentucky and a cute cabin but there was a ton of mouse droppings all over the kitchen counters, inside cabinets and on pans. Therefore we didn't use the kitchen at all. There was also a pretty big pile of old sofas/garbage on the side of the house. Although we loved the history of the cabin and surrounding area we are glad we only needed to spend one night there.
We really enjoyed our stay this past weekend. We hauled a vehicle for the cruise in and had plenty of room for the truck and trailer. Our ONLY negative was that the carpet was a bit worn in places, but the place was so clean and comfortable. Thanks for a great stay!
