We had a great time staying at Cozy Cottage this weekend. The house was cute and nicely decorated. We loved the screened in porch, it was our favorite spot and was perfect for coffee in the morning, and wine at night. The house was well appointed with pretty much everything you might need, even dvd's and games. The location is in a nice and quiet neighborhood, close to the beach and downtown. I'm giving it 4 stars because the house has a very strong musty smell which you notice as soon as you walk it. It's just on the main level, not upstairs. Also, the bed pillows are ridiculously thin, and really need to be replaced. The baseboards and woodwork are scuffed up and need to be repainted. Overall I would recommend this place, though if you have allergies you might not want to stay here due to the musty smell.

We loves all the toys and games. Our grandson had a great time. Great location with an easy walk to the beach. We really enjoyed South Haven. Kids Corner was a perfect spot for the grandson to burn off some energy.

Cozy Cottage did not disappoint

Enjoyed a wonderful Labor Day weekend with family thanks to the thoughtful added amenities provided. From beach umbrellas, beach chairs, water noodles, toys, games, and books for the children. Thank you!

Place near the Bluff

Overall we liked the property and loved the toys for the kids, plus bikes. However, it smelled of mold when we entered the front door (downstairs living area was the only place with the odor).there was pink mold in both showers on the walls which was probably exacerbated by no fans in the bathrooms. In one of the bathrooms the paint was peeling off the ceiling and base boards, and the shower curtain had pink mold. We paid a lot of money to stay here, and it was not fair that it wasn't properly maintained.

Perfect for a family with small children

The location is perfect! Quiet street, walking distance to beach access and a short drive to downtown South Haven. The cottage is fully stocked with anything you need to make meals (which we prefer to do when on vacation with small children). There are also toys and books for children that my kids loved! The cottage was very clean with plenty of towels and linens for a week. Highly recommend!

Positive Experience

Property was clean and spacious. The screened in porch is very nice and there are three bathrooms. The house has all sorts of helpful stuff in it like dishes and beach accessories. You can walk to the nearest beach but the beach is very narrow (private property on right and left marked with metal stakes). It is a short drive, however, to other beaches. We especially liked North Beach and another one close by, I think it was called Packard. We would stay at this property again.

Great location

This rental was in a great spot with only a few minutes walk to the beach. One night we took the bikes in the garage down there. The rental was in a beautiful neighborhood too that felt completely safe. The house was very nicely decorated and had enough space for all 4 of us. They had loads of games and books for all ages. We didn't need to communicate with the rental people any more than what the well informed texts and email info gave us. All of us really enjoyed our stay.

The Cozy Cottage is a small home in a nice, quiet neighborhood. In comparison to other rentals, it is an affordable options. While my family loved South Haven, we were not wowed by this property. There are 3 bedrooms (2 with queen beds and one with two twin beds). The home comfortably fits 6 people. There is a sofa sleeper in one of the bedrooms and in the family room which is how the listing states 10 can stay here. This is a stretch in my opinion. When the sofa bed is opened up, there is virtually no room to walk in the bedroom. The house is cutely decorated but in need of updating. We had a difficult time cooking in the oven as it was dirty and caused it to smoke when in use. There was no exhaust fan or fans of any kind so the smoke was difficult to clear. In addition, the bathrooms upstairs are dated and in need of updates. Overall, this property can get you by but leaves something to be desired. The lack of maintenance and updates brings the quality down. Would recommend for no more than 6 people who plan to eat out vs. cook at the house.

Wonderful Black River Barn wedding stay

Nice place

We rented both sides of the property for a family get together. It’s been so long with Covid. We used one side for the adults and other for kids with family’s. There are many trip hazards on this property for my elderly father but other than that we loved it.

Great trip. Spent most of the time on the screen porch when home.

Will rent again from Jaq realtors listings. Loved Washington St. and the area. So close to the public beach and used the bikes everyday. Only thing was, we should have realized the pictures of cottage were anhledcto appear larger than it really was. Appreciated the beach chairs, umbrella, and all the kitchen supplies. We had a great vacation there, planning next trip to come back.

Water problems-but they made it right

I came to South Haven to attend my daughters' wedding on June 11th at South Haven Creations. We checked into the Cozy Cottage on June 9th. When we checked in I was contacted to let us know that the people who stayed before us had a problem with the washing machine and it overflowed so was asked not to use the washing machine. That was fine, I just needed extra towels because I rented until June 14th. Towels were brought over immediately. On Sunday June 12th, sewage water started coming up the kitchen sink and the toilets weren't flushing. I contacted Devon. Within the hour the roto-rooter came, he told us not to use the water. He then had to contact a drain specialist. Deven suggested we go out to lunch on Jaqua. At first I was pretty perturbed, since we were not able to brush our teeth, flush the toilets or wash our hands-but we went to town and went to lunch. Had an enjoyable lunch and hit the shops. Deven kept in close contact with me providing me with updates. She let me know when the drain guy got to Cozy Cottage. And then contacted me again letting us know we would need to move to another house. She provided the new address and access code within minutes. Even though it was a huge inconvenience, packing and moving, the new house was very nice, clean and had running water and laundry facilities. We truly appreciated Devon keeping in contact. And that we were able to move during the daylight hours and not after dark and after some of our guests left so they could help us with the move. Just wanted to give a shout out to Devon for great customer service and righting a wrong. I know there is no way to predict when things like this could happen, but she made it right. I am a frequent vrbo user, and because of her quick thinking and making it right you have kept a customer that often refers people to vrbo. But I will also start referring to South Haven vacation rentals.

Nice location
