The host was very responsive and helpful. You never had to wait very long for a response. The property was very peaceful and had a beautiful view of the lake. The kitchen was very nice and had plenty of room to cook in. And my dogs settled in quickly and liked it there too. When my young niece and her parents visited us there one morning, she was quick to find the uno cards on the book case, and beat us at playing that game. It was nice that they had activities (uno, books and other things) for all ages. We enjoyed our stay and look forward to staying there again.
Kitchen was great! Kayaks and outdoor fireplace was fantastic! Decking around the house was nice to have. Beautiful views and lakefront property. House was clean. Truly grateful to be able to bring our dogs - Thank you!! Plenty of towels. We would definitely stay here again, and highly recommend this for vicinity to battlefields and a relaxing lakefront vacation. What could make it better: have a mirror and chair in each bedroom. Having a leaf blower for the fall. TV services were âbring your ownâ subscriptions - not good. Solar lights on outdoor path and at fireplace need to be updated. Having books, info, maps on local battlefields and attractions would be a bonus.
The house was very quaint and clean, they even had food and water bowls there for our pups. The owner was a pleasant and very quick to respond to any questions we may have had. We enjoyed our stay there, very quiet and relaxing.
Positives;quiet master down hall, back of house. Front bay window clean. New dock with great little bench to sit on. Down gravel road so not near road- no road noise. Good closet space. Suitcase racks. Big livingroom with good seating. spacious kitchen. Negatives; No instruction book at house. Either self built or self repairs- sloppy. Hole in wall around fuse box in master- piece of wood covering but no way to close securely. Deck has bad spots. Everything outside dirty!! Gazebo had moldy, falling apart poker table in middle with used soda can. One chair broken, couch back too low to comfortably sit. Full of dirt, webs and pollen. Deck and deck stuff dirty. Huge pile of garbage next to deck- contacted owner but was never taken care of during our stay. Warning- geese very loud at night in front 2 bedrooms- disturbed peron who is heavy sleeper. Area around door dirty. Gazebo and deck lights had to be unplugged at night because too bright for such light window coverings. No sunset view. NO MOUNTAINS OR MOUNTAIN VIEW!! Last minute, confusing check out instructions, Musty smell in master bath. No towels out- had to go hunting for them. Too many fake plastic plants. If they want to charge this kind of price they really need to up their game!!!!
Great location and beautiful area. The towels smelled musty and the hall bathroom smelled. Needs a bit more towels and hand towels. The bar stools needed to be tightened and the chairs around the table.
Inside was ok but the one sheet on the foldout had sand all over it. Cereal and a oil under the cushion of love seat. Receptacle in master bdr had no cover and was falling out of the wall. Leaves all over the deck covered several rotted boards with holes.
This was an unplanned stop, which was dog friendly. Right on a nice little lake, where we took advantage of the kayaks. Great little hideaway, yet 15 minutes from restaurants, gas, grocery. Definitely would stay again!
Beautifully decorated lakefront rancher. We stayed in the outdoor gazebo the majority of our stay! Kitchen was spacious and very well done. Beds and linens comfy! Waterside outdoor fireplace! Bring dry wood! At night the outdoors was like a fairyland with oarh lights to the water and all around the deck. We were there for a college graduation but would definitely come for a girls trip or family vacay!
