We visited Springfield for a concert, and decided we could splurge a little and stayed at the Hotel Vandivort. This place is swanky! From the floor tile and light fixtures, the custom furniture, the themed graphics in the elevator shaft, the expansive room and comfortable beds, this place is top notch. And even though the check-in host said the hotel was full, we never really heard anyone else on our floor. The food service offerings were also outstanding, especially the Vantage rooftop bar (located in an adjacent building, we found out after trying to find it on the 4th floor of the main building). Service was friendly and efficient, the cocktails were generous, the seafood was fresh and delicious. The only complaint is the in-room coffee service; there were plenty of supplies available, but the coffee blends were bland and the coffee maker made it too weak. Free parking in the small lot across the street, if you get there early enough (we did!). Overall, we were very happy with our stay.

Arrival was easy and the staff was very friendly. The restaurant was down on the night we planned on having dinner so that was frustrating. Decent pizza place next door. Then the power went out for quite awhile. This hotel doesn’t have any backup system and there was no information sent out in text or intercom so we were concerned about what was happening. Otherwise, the room was clean but the floors were scratched all up and the bed was hard. My previous stay was really good so this is not usual for this establishment. I would stay again because the management was very kind about the situation. It’s a beautiful hotel.

Our room was large and nicely appointed. Between the record player and over-bed chandler, the space transforms nicely to an intimate and romantic feel. The coffee area was nice, it housed a sink and refrigerator, and quality coffee. There is a safe in the room and automatic blinds(which are fun to play with if you're waiting for your wife to put on her makeup). The bathroom also has a big bright mirror and luxurious bath robes to wear. All of the employees we encountered, both in and outside the buildings, were polite, helpful, and friendly.

Best stay in Springfield

This is the best hotel in the Springfield area. The rooms are comfortable and have everything you could need. Their drinks and snacks are good. We particularly enjoyed their top floor lounge.
