Property is old and not well maintained. Guest room we were given the carpet was sticky in spots. So sticky it pulled your sandals off. Second room had a couple inch gap underneath the door to the outside. Pictures are misleading and they super inflate their rates when the Ironman was in town. I

Common hallway and stair carpeting is dirty. Stains on the carpet in my room. Rooms opening into the building lack natural light and are dark but ample lamps. Pool and hot tub are inside main lobby and common area with no walls or glass separating which means the chlorine smell permeates throughout the building.

The reason we chose this hotel was due to the Pickleball courts. But now we are told that the Pickleball courts don’t open until 9 AM. It’s already 90° outside and will be way too hot to play by 9. I don’t know why they can’t open the courts at 7. Very disappointed to have pickleball courts outside your door that are locked up. Nobody needed to monitor the courts, all you have to do is unlock the courts.

Stopped at the Red Lion twice during our 12 day road trip. My children loved the amenities, they enjoyed the heated pool & hot tub, mini golf & pickleball courts. Only down side was having to haul our luggage up the flight of stairs, not easy with small children. Second stay I asked for ground level which was much easier. Check in was very quick and easy. The building was dated, but our room was clean.
