The cottage was nice, clean, and a good place to rest at night. However, itâs not really a place to hang out, as there werenât any lounges on the deck. That wasnât an issue for us since we headed to the beaches daily.
We did notice a musty smell in the house, particularly in the bathroom and near the washing machine, which made me wonder if it was coming from the towels. The mustiness was also noticeable on the deck.
The biggest issue, and the reason for the reduced rating, was the lack of functional internet. Although the internet worked for the TVs, it was unusable for anything else. It was clearly not a provider issue. The property manager was unresponsive, and even after contacting the owner, the issue was not resolved during our stay.
With no cell service in the area, this was especially frustrating. For example, we were unable to rebook a boat day after a cancellation and couldnât log in for work in the evenings as planned. A simple reboot of the router likely would have fixed the issue, but no one came out to assist.
To add to the frustration, we noticed an alarm going off in the main house (possibly a smoke detector) and alerted the property manager but received no response.
There was also no cooler included which we noticed while property manager was still there. She was unable to find it.
