How lucky we were to find this wonderful place. Loved everything about the Captains Quarters inside and out, especially the beautiful sunrises over the marsh! Loved the slow pace of this unique little sleepy town. mThe home was special and the hospitality from the hosts made us feel like family.Equipped with everything, except the wine! But we were prepared and wined and dined on the deck almost every evening surrounded by such beautiful surroundings.Thanks for sharing this golden jewel. We will return!

Beautiful Relaxing peaceful hideaway

The accommodations were outstanding. The back deck was perfect for watching morning sunrises as well as enjoying the wonderful cool breezes coming in over the St Mary’s River and saltwater marsh. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to return.

Peaceful Sunrise

The host was most accommodating and informative as well as very friendly. This was a prefect location to catch the ferry to Cumberland Island or to go for a stroll in charming downtown St. Mary’s. Centrally located to points of interest like Fort Clinch and Amelia Island. Sunrise with coffee overlooking the beautiful marsh was everything we could ask for.

Peaceful, beautiful, wonderful visit!

My husband & I cannot say enough about the City of St. Marys and our wonderful stay at the Captains Quarters! Don welcomed us with his friendly, kind demeanor. He gave us a tour of the apartment and offered us lots of very interesting information. He also brought us into his incredible home which is the main house. The Captains Quarters was immaculate and decorated beautifully! It offered everything we needed and more. The marsh view with its incredible sunrises was the perfect beginning to each day. The landscaping on the property is so beautiful. There is such a variety/abundance of birds that fly over the marsh. I saw my favorite birds, the roseate spoonbills, daily. We brought our kayaks & bikes and loved exploring the river and City of St. Marys. Our day trip by ferry to Cumberland Island was fascinating! Our late afternoon walks to the town center was so peaceful and enjoyable. Thank you Don for your kind hospitality. We appreciate everything and look forward to returning next year! Denise & Larry

Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful

My wife and I stayed here while visiting our daughter at Kings Bay naval base. It was a wonderful place. Very clean, great view, well decorated, great location. My wife is very sensitive to smells and this placed had none. Location is easy walking distance to waterfront old town St Marys with restraints, bars, and stores. Great small town atmosphere with short drive to major stores. Host was friendly and always available. Thank you, Don, for a wonderful place.

Super view

If you are in St. Marys for a few days and want to enjoy the marsh and river views, this place is a very wise choice. Don & Melody are very friendly host. Captain’s Quarters is located on the 2nd floor of the garage of the owner. Yes, you live next door to them, but this is not a big deal in terms of privacy. The apartment is bright, comfortable, and the bathroom is surprisingly modern for a circa house of 1874. - the carpet is not the best choice of flooring when dogs are allowed… - bed is not large but good Thank you for your hospitality and the exquisite muffins!

Wonderful stay

My husband and I spent a lovely month at this VRBO. Don the owner is a great host, always available if need be. Though we had no issues to report. The apartment is beautiful, perfect for the two of us. It provided all the amenities, DISH tv and comfortable furniture and bedding. It is only 2 blocks from historic St Marys which added to the attraction of this property.

Beautiful St Mary’s

This property is a gem with every amenity. It is located on a historic property in a stunning location with a beautiful view over the nearby marshes from the front porch. We walked our dog multiple times a day through the historic neighborhood. Our hosts were lovely and very helpful too.

What a wonderful week at the Captain’s Quarters, with a view of the marsh in Saint Mary’s. Everything about this place was lovely and comfortable, from the bed to the jacuzzi tub to the Adirondack chairs on the balcony. Communication was fast and easy - and Don was so great. A definite gem!

Beautiful Property

My wife and I have been using VRBO for years when we travel. We haven't taken a vacation in quite some time due to my wife's health and the pandemic. With my wife's doctors blessing we booked a stay at the Collier-Casey Estate and stayed in the Captains Quarters. This location is the standard that all VRBO properties should be measured by. It was immaculate, inviting, pet friendly and very comfortable. Our host Don Pierce greeted us upon arrival and brought us to our home away from home, he gave us an overview of the property, offered his help in any way and then left us to settle into this beautiful apartment. Everything was exactly as it was described, the marsh and river views were perfect, the location was peaceful and the sunrises were beautiful. We spent as much time as possible on the porch overlooking the property and enjoying the comforting sea breeze. On the day we left our host asked if there was anything he could improve upon, I couldn't think of anything! Pete & Sue
