We stayed at the Country Motor Lodge, part of the Publick House property, and had a great experience. The room was clean, spacious, and felt very private. It had a nostalgic, roadside charm that reminded me of a classic family road trip—slightly quirky, but in a good way. In the morning, they offered complimentary coffee, tea, and a baked good, which was an easy and appreciated touch. The location is also close to plenty of great little restaurants and breakfast spots in Sturbridge, making it a convenient and affordable stop—especially for families.

The wedding venue was lovely, and the bake shop is excellent! However, the bathroom was full of fire ants and when I mentioned this to the girl at check-out she didn't even say sorry. All she said was "did you tell someone?" and I said, "I just did." Also, I have stayed in many hotels, and this is the first one that didn't have a coffee pot in the room.

We liked the property once we figured out how to get to the rooms. I don’t believe the food in the dining room was up to standard. I had pot roast and it was very dry. More gravy didn’t help. My wife's fish was perfect. Service was ok. On site bakery was very good. The grounds and plantings are beautiful. I am handicapped but they put me on the second floor. Climbing stairs with luggage isn't fun for me.

The free continental breakfast items + coffee/tea/hot chocolate are excellent. some of the best bake goods around. The rooms could use a refresh, only reason why it’s not 5 stars

The room was very clean, the beds were super comfortable, the towels were thick and soft, and the staff was genuinely friendly and helpful. This isn’t a chain hotel, it’s a historic inn that is very charming. The complementary beverages and pastries in the morning were delicious. Thank you.

We enjoyed the place very much. So much more of a homey feeling than a hotel. The staff were all very pleasant. The dinner we had in the Tap Room was good and the bakery was exquisite! Would definitely stay there again.

The room in the Chamberlin House was nice and clean. But the shower had very low pressure, there was no mini fridge to keep drinks cool for our trip and the A.C. unit in the window struggled to keep the room clean. Also, we were on the ground floor and the curtains did not cover the windows so it was impossible to feel as if we had privacy. The curtains also hung in front of the A.C. unit making it even harder to get the room cool. The free pastries, coffee, and tea in the morning was nice and they tasted delicious.
