Hands down my favorite resort in all of the Florida Keys. Awesome location, great staff, and the resort overall is breathtaking. Only a 25 minute drive to Key West which is a huge plus. Definitely worth every penny!

Our hotel suite was perfect. Very clean, stylish, and functional. The pool was amazing and we especially loved the hammocks under the palm trees. There were iguanas hanging by the pool when it wasn’t busy and the bar is open most all day. The beach was okay. Good for sunning I guess but the water was rocky and grassy and the water seemed to have a current making it hard to swim for the kids. There are large floats out there and a trampoline.

Such beautiful accomdations away from the craziness of Key West, yet closer enough to visit and enjoy all of the attractions, in Key West, Marathon, and throughout the lower Keys! The room was beautiful and clean, the pool and ajacent bar absolutely picture perfect, and the bar evening activities very fun. The private beach was gorgeous, and the marina full of fun outdoor items to rent and enjoy and explore! (The marina staff was SO friendly and helpful, too.) Staying here absolutely made our family visit to the Keys exceptional. Highly, highly recommend!! Will definitely stay again if we visit the Keys again!

I recently enjoyed a stay at the Sugarloaf Key Hotel at KOA Resort, and I have to say, it was a delightful experience. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, complete with a kitchen that made our stay even more enjoyable. It’s always nice to have the option to cook your own meals when traveling! The resort itself is well-kept and clean, contributing to a relaxing atmosphere. However, I did notice that there are quite a few rules in place, particularly regarding noise. Loud music is prohibited, and beach balls are not allowed in the pool area, which might be a bit restrictive for some guests looking to have more fun around the pool. One downside was the abundance of mosquitoes as the sun started to set, so be sure to bring some insect repellent to keep those pesky bugs at bay! We also took advantage of the boat ramp, which was nice and tidy. The dock was a little tight, but it didn’t detract from our overall experience. My favorite part of the stay was that the resort is pet-friendly! They have a lovely little dog park where my furry baby had a great time running around and playing. It was wonderful to be able to bring my pet along and have a space for them to enjoy. Overall, Sugarloaf Key Hotel at KOA Resort is a great choice for those seeking comfort and cleanliness, with the added bonus of being pet-friendly. Just keep the resort rules and mosquito situation in mind for a more enjoyable stay!

Sugarloaf resort stay

The rooms and resort are very comfortable and very clean. Two Particular employees were not at all friendly and rude. But in all it’s a nice place.
