The Good: House was well appointed and clean. Plenty of bath towels and sheets available. Location, perfect. View, stellar.
The Bad: Difficult entry upon arrival. Key pad did not work (as I was instructed prior to my arrival by three different rental company personnel that the key pad was the only entry needed). Had to go to the rental company office to get key from drop box after repeated attempts to enter using door key pad. BTW, Southern Coast Vacation rental office is never open in the Surfside Beach area. This 5 bedroom house was given ONE key for 6 adults! There were no pot holders in kitchen, and the slat blinds in primary bedroom were broken.
The UGLY: Southern Coast Vacation rental company has horrible customer service. The dryer in the house would not dry the clothes. I called the 'Maintenance department both Tuesday and Wednesday, left a detailed message and NEVER received a call back. Thursday, I call the vacation rental office, explained my reason for call and was told the Maintenance department could not handle this type of service call. This particular issue would have to be vetted out to vendors, and that no vendor was available until MONDAY (we checked out on Saturday). I also learned the OWNER and vacation rental office were aware of the maintenance issue on the day we checked IN, but did not put a work order or try to locate a vendor to have the issue resolved during our stay.
I was also told by someone in the vacation rental office on Thursday, that 'Patrick' of the Vacation department would call me to offer a partial refund due to the inconvenience. NEVER heard from Patrick either..
We travel to Myrtle Beach yearly for family vacations. I will NEVER rent another property if Southern Coast Vacations is the rental company.
