This was a very disappointing experience overall. When we returned to the property the first evening, there were a thousands of bugs inside the home. It quickly became clear they were getting in due to doors that do not properly seal. We had to secure the back door shut with a patio chair and a brick just to try to keep bugs out, and the sliding glass door also did not fully close.On top of that, the cleanliness of the home was unacceptable. The couches and carpets were extremely dirty and visibly stained, and the sunroom TV did not work. We reached out to the host about the bug issue and were told to turn off the lights inside because the blind mosquitos are attracted to it. Thatâs not a reasonable solution when youâre paying to stay in a home on vacation. When I stated that we didnât want to turn the lights out and sit in the dark, he responded that itâs 9 at night, what do I suggest he does. Itâs not the guests responsibility to figure out issues at their property! Between the maintenance issues, cleanliness concerns, and how the situation was handled, this stay did not meet expectations.
