This is a beautiful hotel overlooking the loch , itâs out of the way and very private.
The food is fantastic, small menu but something for every taste.
Located in a really nice area, with just the river in front of the hotel.
Food was excellent, the fish was so fresh, and the manager who served us, explained the dishes and cheese platter very well.
We really enjoyed ourselves and will recommend to our family and friends.
Hidden gem located on the loch. Counldnt be more dog friendly. Lovely comfortable bed and powerful shower, food was excellent and also a lovely pub 15 mins walk away too. We will definitely go back.
What a wonderful place to spend a weekend away from it all. Everything was perfect except that we only stayed for the weekend. We shall return very soon.
Beautiful lochside setting with a range of seating areas and fire pit available. Very dog friendly with towels, toys and biscuits provided. All public areas are spacious which means social distancing is possible without everyone resorting to masks. Management are very friendly and keen to make your stay enjoyable.
Beautiful setting on the banks of Loch Awe. Aptly named. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. The location is a bit remote, but worth the drive.
This is an amazing 300 year old hunting accommodation. A gorgeous property tucked away just outside Taynuilt. There is a dinner option available which is bit pricey. Breakfast is provided again with menu choices and a cereal bar. A very nice hotel with country charm.
We received a good welcome. Our rooms were very comfortable and we particularly appreciated the blackout curtains. This hotel has wonderful potential - just needs some more refurbishment in some areas (e.g. bathroom suite was tired). Staff we met were dedicated to making our stay good. Oh, and the view over the Loch was amazing! PS the croquet was fun too!
Absolutely outstanding location, glorious - would return for this alone.
However our experience was a little mixed. Dinner excellent, but expensive, as were the drinks.Breakfast good, but nothing special. Staff delightful, very friendly but over-stretched at times.
Our room was a little tired and disappointing, as was the bathroom. There was no plug for the bath and the shower ran hot and would not cool. Reported this on departure and was assured this would be rectified.
This hotel has the potential to be somewhere very special indeed and it is such a shame that with a little more care an attention to detail this is not the case.
A beautiful and peaceful inn on a lovely property on a beautiful loch. Itâs off the beaten track on a single track road. The staff are helpful and willing. The facilities are up to date for the most part. Our shower didnât work, but everything else was fine. The food is absolutely wonderful. I had the best lamb dish I have ever eaten. Everything we ate was excellent. Will return for a 3rd visit.
Beautiful scenery on loch awe. The structure is charming and the staff was kind. Unfortunately, the interior seemed neglected, offputting smells throughout (strong cleaners and even some sewage odor outside) and there did not seem to be enough people around to tend to ambience. Fireplaces never lit, glassware and empty bottles in the social areas for entire days. Probably needs more staff and attention to detail. Again, staff was very kind. I suppose we just expected more from such a highly regarded hotel.
Stunning location on the edge of Loch Awe. The hotel is comfortable but it is old and tired and in desperate need of some renovation. The staff were pleasant but not overly helpful. We arrived to check in only to be greeted by the receptionist and her colleague sitting around drinking wine and they were not particularly attentive to us. Breakfast was really good. The situation and the aspect of the property would take us back there, the service and the state of the property would not.
Amazing setting. Great for overnight stay.
Loch views are amazing. Could happily just sit and watch the changing colours for hours. Lovely old building. Shabby chic. Could do with some TLC in places. Enjoyed a great dinner. Service was quick. Breakfast huge and tasty. Staff very pleasant and attentive. Bed very comfortable.
I was asked to move my car, just as I entered the dining room. They could have asked me earlier, rather than waiting until we had an audience, two of whom applauded when I moved my car!
The menu was very limited. 1 Fish, 1 meat and 1 vegetarian option. I chose the lamb - very fatty, very tough and undercooked.
After dinner drinks were served without ice. When I asked for ice, I was told it was in short supply. Needless to say, we did not have a second round.
I suffered from the runs during the night. Draw your own conclusion!
Receptionist suggested that it took 24 hours for food poisoning to kick in. I always though it was 7 to 8.
Overall, a huge disappointment.
We had stayed at Taychreggan quite a few years ago and were really looking forward to our return but we were really disappointed. The bar was extremely badly stocked. On our second night the service in the restaurant was very slow and the meal was cold. We complained at the time to be told it had just been cooked. Many parts of the approach Road were in extremely poor condition. The staff were very pleasant and helpful but Iâmafraid we wonât be returning.
