Awesome place, love the theme and the distance from town. Great views and perfect stars. Also appreciated the community kitchen area. Would definitely stay here again.
We loved our stay at Ten Bits and plan to stay again. The views were beautiful! The property was full of charm, like an old western. Our room was spacious and comfortable and the patio had rocking chairs where we enjoyed watching the sunsets. We used the fire pit to make sâmores and used the shared kitchen to grab a snack. This property is also only about a 20-25 minute drive to the entrance of Big Bend where we spent the majority of our time. Not to mention Ghost Town where we enjoyed a great breakfast, shopping and history⊠Lajitas where we had some great pizza with a hometown atmosphere. Sis was great to communicate with during our stay. She was very helpful and easy to talk to whenever needed. Thank you, again, for a great stay!
A great place to stay housing was nice very comfortable. Everything was there as described went rock hunting and to the Apache cave which was really neat. It was right there on the premises. Lotta history from that area. If and when we go back we will want to stay at 10 bits Ranch again or we wonât go
Enjoyed our stay so much! Loved the ranch and the room. Really appreciated the great communication through email and text. The information regarding directions was very helpful. Especially liked the cantina. Had such a warm feeling to it. We cooked both nights of our stay I would recommend to anyone traveling to the park.
The Ten Bits Ranch was so fun. Each of the places was named after a building in an old western town. It was very comfortable and plenty of space for all 4 of us. The location was beautiful and far enough out you could see a million stars. I would highly recommend it.
Everything was as advertised. The mile+ long driveway was in rough shape due to the heavy rain but the view was definitely worth it! The rooms, AC, and showers were a welcome relief after several days of camping. I'd definitely recommend this place and would stay again.
Note: Don't rely on the continental breakfast. I understand the host is going above and beyond in this regard but we found it to be lacking. It would probably best to bring your own breakfast.
The rooms were very large and nice for the 4 of us. It was clean, could use some paint on walls. Breakfast was hardly continental even. The water was really hot and would not get cool which following a hot day at Big bend would have been nice. It was even a bit too hot for the toddler to shower. The beds were nice, firm and big, how i like them. I know some do like them much softer than i do tho. Overall pk. My main complaint was the road going into the ranch. We werent warned about it until after booking it. They said if it rains, it is frequently impassable and you would get stuck. We had a 4x4 truck and had no trouble going in, it was dry, but were bounced around doing well under 8mph at times. If I had a car, i wouldnt have been comfortable at all.driving it.
This was the perfect place to stay! Amazing views, comfy cabins and a full size kitchen. We have a large family so this was amazing. âCampingâ made easy. We will definitely be back.
All in all it was a great get away for a few days! The Ranch itself is in a beautiful setting ~ loved sitting outside just enjoying the beautiful areas. Clean cabin beds a bit hard but okâŠ
Only comment that I think is a negative is the fact that âBreakfast is included â.
The only thing that was available were bagels and breakfast bars coffee and juice.
Other than that we enjoyed the Ranch.
We stayed at Ten Bits Ranch with myself, my husband, dog and two kids (8 and 12), and we loved it! The property was as described, and more. The ranch was very conveniently located not too far from the town of Terlingua and Big Bend, yet felt so secluded, quiet and peaceful. The themed buildings gave a village vibe and the community kitchen area was well stocked with more than we expected and was centrally located. Our room was clean, furnished well, and the shower was super hot, which was great after a long day hiking. We loved sitting on the porch and looking at the starts and night and watching the sun rise in the mornings with nothing but the sounds of crickets. Wonderful location!
Ten Bits was the best place to stay while visiting Big Bend plus it is a great place itself as a place to explore and to enjoy the beautiful landscape and serene outdoors. We loved the hiking, star gazing, sâmore making, everything-It was perfect. But listen to the owners when they warn you to stay off the roads if you donât have AWD or 4x4. It gets bad when it rains. The set up like an old western town is so cute and it was just a joy to stay here!! The owners communicated with me very well!!
Wonderful, extremely private accommodations with breathtaking 360 degree views. Each casita is designed as a particular building from the Old West. We stayed in The Texas Hattery (#6). In the back was a firepit overlooking a canyon and a beautiful dome-shaped mountain. There is a cantina 50 yds away that has a full sized kitchen and tables with shared refrigerators and self-serve food items, coffee, juices, water, milk, etc. It appears some new casitas are being constructed - I hope management will be able to keep the private feel of the property. To get to Ten Bits Ranch, you'll take a 2 mile drive down an unpaved road, and over some good sized stones so I'd recommend an SUV for full enjoyment of the ride. One of our favorite places to stay in the Big Bend area.
We book the hattery on a whim while planning our trip to Big Bend and wished we had been able to stay longer. The village is soo cute and the landscape is amazing!! Being able to explore cliff dwellings is something weâll never forget!! I have never seen soo many stars before!
It had rained the day we arrived so the drive in was a little sketchy but no problems when we left.
We will definitely visit again!
3rd year staying at Ten Bits. Can't beat the ease of check in and the location and views. Stayed in one of the new buildings the hattery. Fantastic room and great amenities. And the couch in there was very comfortable to sit after a long day in Big Bend. Cantina was great was nice to have a grilling area to cook some fat T-bones for Mother's day. I highly recommend Ten Bits and do to everyone i know that will be staying in the area. Will be coming back again.
The two mile drive down the unpaved road to Ten Bits is pretty rough to navigate. The scenery around the ranch is beautiful.
We stayed in the Hattery and it was bigger than the pictures and very nice. The room was clean and they provide drinking water and a Keurig was in the room for coffee. If you drink a lot of coffee I would suggest bringing extra pods. Guests are provided a list of places to eat, but some of those places have closed. I also wish information had been provided on the logistics of how to get into the Starlite theater to eat. We found out you have to get there 45 minutes before it opens and wait in line. If you go after 5:30 you probably wonât get in. It was our anniversary and we were very disappointed at the limited choices to eat. The Barbecue place was packed and we couldnât get in there either. If you bring food you can cook it in the kitchen at the ranch. But you have to take turns with other guests. Ten Bits is very close to one of the Big Bend entrances which was nice. Ten Bits is the nicest place to stay if you are planning a trip to Big Bend and reasonably priced.
Amazing guest ranch modeled after old west town. Darkest night sky I have ever seen. Milky Way was clearly visible. Sunrise/sunsets were all outstanding. The setting is amongst volcanic spires & sandstone cliffs with a view of Hen Egg Mountain. The amenities were better than expected for off grid guest rooms with plenty of toiletries & towels as well as bottled water. This was much better than our last stay in Chisos Basin years ago. Secluded, quiet & secure plus dog friendly. We did not make use of the Cantina but it looked well equipped for making great meals if you bring food. We brought our own breakfasts & ate picnic lunches in BBNP & dinners before returning in the evenings. It was so relaxing; I can't wait to go back.
Ten Bits Ranch is a charming and peaceful oasis. My room was spacious and thoughtfully appointed. Communications were clear and timely which made arrival and check-in/check-out a breeze. Wish I could have stayed another night but hope to be back someday!
