I love this little spot. I especially love that it had a real coffee pot (as I loathe Keurig Coffee). I have lots of good things to say about this rental, LOTS. Suffice it to say I'll stay again soon. If I had to speak of a negative, it would be the long, bumpy, and steep road in. I have a 4WD truck, but a 2WD car might struggle. It's no fault of the property owners, just worth a mention. Great place to stay though!
We absolutely loved the Quicksilver house and Fossil Knob Ridge. The home had everything my husband and I needed. The location was amazing- close enough to town for going out for meals, but you still felt removed from everything. The home had everything we needed for cooking easy meals. Looking forward to coming back in the future.
We had a great stay and were in awe of the sunsets, sunrises and amazing night skies. We had everything we needed to cook and relax after a day of exploring. Highly recommend staying here but do heed the warning of having a high clearance vehicle.
Truly was a magical experience to see all the stars illuminate the night in the pitch of the dark. Very unique structure, cozy and quaint. Had all the amenities necessary for our trip. Close enough to Big Bend which I loved. Many local shops and cafes to enjoy. Highly recommend for those seeking adventure!
They Rainbow house was perfect. The views were amazing and close to all great restaurants to eat. Close to Big Bend National park. Will definitely be coming and staying at Fossil Knob again
My wife and I stayed in The Rainbow House. We loved it. It was exactly as advertised, clean, nicely appointed, and fantastic location. Everything we needed for a great stay. Daryl & Janet are gracious host.
We loved everything ! The unit was well equipped and stocked. Beautiful design and privacy. The only non 5 star rating was for location. The road leading to the containers is terrible . We drive a Subaru Outback and took it slow. I will return but next time I will rent a jeep or pickup.
I have already recommended Fossil Knob
Thank you
We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the Rainbow House in Fossil Knob Ridge. The breathtaking scenery, featuring stunning views of the Chisos Mountains in Big Bend National Park, added to the overall charm of our stay. The location proved to be incredibly convenient, placing us in close proximity to the Starlite Theatre, restaurants, coffee shops, and the captivating landscapes of Big Bend. The container home itself exuded cleanliness and comfort without unnecessary extravagance. The well-appointed kitchen allowed us to prepare meals effortlessly. We were particularly enchanted by the stunning sunsets and sunrises during our stay. Without a doubt, we wholeheartedly recommend this hidden gem to our friends.
This was a beautiful stay for us, as we have had repeated trips to Big Bend National Park. This Terlingua property was just what we needed. Thank you to the hosts, and for the owner of the property who did a spectacular job of creating Fossil Knob Ridge!
The stay was great. We were close to Big Bend where we spent most of our days. The property was very clean and well stocked with everything you needed. The only issues that we didn't like were the drive from the base of the hill to the property. The rough road gets very tiring. We also didn't really care for being told to limit our water usage.
We enjoyed our stay in the Rainbow House at Fossil Knob Ridge. The scenery is amazing with views of the Chisos Mountains in Big Bend National Park. The location is convenient to the Starlite Theatre, restaurants, coffee shops, and Big Bend. The container home was very clean and just what we needed. Nice, but no frills. We were able to prepare meals as needed in the kitchen. The sitting area windows provided beautiful views. The bed is super comfy too! There are a total of 5 container homes at Fossil Knob Ridge, and they are all set uniquely in a way that each of the homes are very private and very quiet. The road to get to the home is long and bumpy, but worth the privacy and views. We had one minor issue with 2 electrical plugs not working, but that was resolved within an hour. We definitely plan to stay again!
Everything was just like the description. The space was extremely comfortable & perfect for our stay. The location was great for visiting Big Bend. We enjoyed it & look forward to coming again!!
This house was exactly what the listing stated and more. The house is on top on a rocky cliff and the sunsets and sunrises are gorgeous. My husband and I have wanted to hike Big Bend (both State and National parks) for years and this house was a perfect place to kick up our feet after a long day. The bed was comfortable. There was a cute seating area as well (SURPRISEâŠthe chairs recline..figured it out on our last night. Lol). The TV isnât something we typically care about but it was nice to have as we are baseball fans and the playoffs weâre going on. The kitchen was just enough to make some quick meals but the outside grill was appreciated! The bathroom was surprisingly spacious and fully stocked with everything we needed. We have done nothing but show off our pictures from this trip and hope to be able to bring friends back with us to stay in the surrounding containers! You will be pleased with these accommodations, I promise!
This property really was ideal! Well maintained and stocked, clean, beautiful scenery, close to Big Bend National Park, and plenty of good places to grab a bite to eat close by. Just be aware that the road to get to the cabin is extremely bumpy and difficult to navigate for newbies. It's best to get there with plenty of daylight to make it safely up the road. It was exactly what we were looking for!
The views were gorgeous. Waking up to a sunrise over the mountain was my favorite. The directions to the home were the most thorough and helpful we have ever received. The home was nice and cool and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.
We syaed in the Rainbow accommodation. Spacious and well equipped. Peaceful place to stay, lots of solitude for relaxing. Dark skies and bright Texas stars.
Our two night stay in Mariscal House was exactly what we were seeking. Beautiful rental with jaw dropping mountain views. Stars, stars and more stars could be seen in the night sky...Clean, well equipped and nicely located to Big Bend NP. Communication and suggestions were excellent. Terlingua was a fun, yet quaint community. Starlight theater for dinner one night was convenient and delicious. We will definitely reserve Fossil Knob Ridge for our next trip to far west Texas.
Great place, beautiful silence and star gazing, spot, confortable and with every single thing you need, I spent my 45th Bd with my son, had never seen him so happy and excited, at nights he said he felt he was in the cockpit of the Millennium Falcon :)
