On arrival No one was on reception so I stood while numerous members of staff walked past me so I went into bar then a bald headed man came not the happiest person but maybe as it was New Year’s Day wished he wasn’t in .we were in room 9 the window was wide open so room was freezing then realised radiator didn’t work as a plug in one was there I wanted to move rooms as been winter did not want to be cold .The radiator in bathroom is far too small aswell that room was freezing whole time .overall stay was fine we didn’t have breakfast as over £30 is steep on top of room great location would stay again but not at full price or in that room

I cannot fault the property or the food; however, the staff were not attentive, and the overall level of customer service did not reflect what I would expect from a hotel of this standard. I reported a flickering light in the bathroom of my room, and the receptionist informed me that nothing could be done until the next guest arrived. This left me feeling unimportant compared with future guests, and it made it difficult to get ready the following morning. Additionally, the restaurant staff spoke very loudly, as though they were in the kitchen rather than in front of guests. When I approached a member of staff with a question, she told me that her colleague would be with me shortly instead of assisting me herself. All I wanted to ask was whether the hollandaise sauce contained cream. She eventually returned to explain their process of taking drink orders before food orders, but the interaction did not feel guest-focused or accommodating. Overall the staff are not friendly and not accomodating.

Stayed in the Dick Turpin suite, large room with wonderful bath in a separate space from the bathroom. All staff very professional and friendly. Good menu so booked a meal on arrival which was good value as well as tasty. Good size car park. Would stay again in a heartbeat!

Lovely hotel & the room was also lovely.. not a large room but everything you needed you in the room. Very comfortable bed plenty of towels .enough coffee / tea & bottle water. We had a lovely two night stay our room was large with a huge comfortable bed. It was in a great location, very central with parking at the back of the hotel. The staff were all friendly and helpful, overall a great stay we would definitely stay here again when next in the area.

Lovely clean room, very comfortable. Nice old coaching inn. Restaurant lets this hotel down poor choice of evening meal and poor quality. Would stay again, convenient for touring the area and comfortable, with parking on site.

The staff were exceptional as we had gone to visit a very poorly friend. Our plans changed yesterday and today hourly and we were allowed to stay in their carpark until we left just after 2 pm. Our friend is home from hospital but have not had chance to catch up but we enjoyed our time in Thirsk a beautiful place great for shopping
