This place should not be listed.

This property should NOT be listed on hotels.com, it is so substandard. I have been an avid and usually low- to moderate budget traveler for decades and this only time I have had to leave a hotel because of terrible conditions. I expected it to be simple and very basic, and the previous reviews gave no indication of problems. They were so brief that in retrospect I wonder if they were real. Upon arrival, ar a house that looked worse than the photo, the owner brought us to a room several houses down the block. There were at least six garbage cans piled under our window and a smell of sewage in general. The room was clean but the furniture starting to fall apart and there was no space even to put a small suitcase. We had to take turns opening ours. The bed was hard and the room very cold at night with no ability to adjust the thermostat. The blankets were very thin and towel racks were missing. There were no common areas. At best, this can be described as a low-end workers hostel, not a “guesthouse,” and frankly, I have stayed in plenty of hostels that were better than this. The two or three times we texted the owners with questions, there was no response. The only positive thing I can say about the room was that it was clean. We had paid for six nights, spent one night and requested hotels.com to request a refund from the owners. The owners refused.

Good Budget Simple Stay

This place is really good for those on a budget. The rooms are simple as are the bathrooms but everything was clean and secure. Great for students or others looking for affordable accommodation right in downtown TO.

Basic and good for a short stay. There was no tea kettle, no deadbolt or chain to lock door from inside and only one light bulb for whole room. The area was also not the safest at night but fine during the day and plenty of local shops and Tim Hortons, MacD nearby.

Great location - Walkable to many city spots. This is a bare minimal place, but cannot be beat for the price - if you are looking for a simple bed and shower and don’t plan on spending much time in the room. This is the place.

It’s just to sleep and wash

Overall, it’s fine. It’s just they tried to maximize the space and make rooms where there shouldn’t be.. it’s OK for the price you’re 12 minutes of walk from the CN Tower. It was extremely clean. I might see a lot of little negative things but in the end if you’re just looking for a place to sleep and wash quiet and you’re able to take a little bit of discomfort on some things, you’ll get an amazing weekend for a very cheap downtown Toronto. And I would be the first one to return to that place if I go back downtown Toronto.
If you’re lucky to be on the third floor, the emergency exit has this patio with the view

The room and the bathroom were clean. The property was Air conditioned. There were a microwave and a refrigerator. But the outside of the property was dirty and had to wait 10 mins outside for the owner to come and let us in. Overall if anyone wants to have a room to just spend the night I would recommend.

The worst service, I have had ever. The air conditioner was not working properly, since I complained and asked for fan. Then even though, they did not provide. Please don’t book this hotel for your future trip in Totonto.

Overall, it was exactly what we were looking for. Cheap, small, relatively clean, good air conditioning, quiet, polite staff. If you're expecting a beautiful, roomy place to stay, this obviously isn't it, but if you just want a cheap and convenient place to sleep and hang out downtown, I think this place delivers that exactly.
