Where to stay in downtown Toronto

Beautiful Hotel in a great location. Walkable to many of the city's main attractions and restaurants. Easy train from airport drops you across the street from the Fairmont hotel.

It a beautiful historic building with Gilded Age vibes. The staff is very friendly and professional. Our room was very comfortable, and the service is too knotch. I particularly loved the beautiful floral arrangements on the main floor.

When I booked the price was very reasonable but has since gone up almost double. I loved everything about this hotel. We arrived mid afternoon and had no trouble checking in. Our luggage was delivered to our room and we were able to get direction to the library bar to get something to eat. The hotel was very busy and there was a waiting list for the bar but as hotel guests we had priority. There was a lovely atmosphere and the food was delicious. Our room was warm and comfortable and there were slippers and bath robes for our use. We ordered room service breakfast which came to our room on a table all set with coffee pots, condiments and cutlery - everything we ordered. We went to the Scotia Bank Arena which is within walking distance. The CN Tower, Roger’s Centre, Aquarium and theatre district are all near by which makes it a great place to stay.

Excellent restaurants and location was central to anything we wanted to see or do in Toronto. Did not like how they charged extra for a lot of things, like internet. Room note stated a refrigerator was complimentary but when we called down for one there was a $35 “delivery” fee.

It was a treat to myself as it’s $$$, but an exceptional place with that old railway hotel lux feel. Food was very good. I used the pool which was quiet and lovely, unfortunately the hot tub down for maintenance.

The outside facade is beautiful, but it’s an old hotel which means the furniture inside the rooms are old and the rooms are paper thin. The bed & pillows were very uncomfortable.
