The room was affordable, clean, and well-located. Very close to the subway station, the streetcars, and many good restaurants. It smells immaculate, but it can get very cold, and the heater took quite a while to heat the whole room. While the room and the hotel are clean, we were hesitant to use the dryer because it was full of dust. Apart from that, we are delighted with our stay and hope to come back again if we visit Toronto.

This was my first time staying at the rex. I just needed somewhere downtown to spend the night. The Rex was perfect for the price. The staff were friendly, flexible and helpful. The room was clean and there are posters and art everywhere, it's a charming spot to explore the city from woth great restaurants and entertainment nearby. I'll be booking with them again.

The Rex is a more affordable option for anyone needing to stay right downtown near all the main attractions in Toronto. The accomodations are basic but clean and functional and the staff are great.

It’s definitely a bare-bones kind of hotel, but for the price and location it was exactly what I needed. I was fairly pleasantly surprised! The room is a bit old and had a slight smell (left the window open for a bit and it mostly went away) but it was very clean otherwise, comfortable, and I felt safe the entire time. The shared bathrooms were surprisingly nice, super clean (no matter what time you went so they clearly clean it often) and recently renovated. I didn’t spend much time in the room anyway, so it worked perfectly for my stay. The WiFi was a bit slow but did the job. Plus, the staff were super friendly and kind. Overall, no bells and whistles, but I would definitely stay again!!

I enjoyed my stay here overall . I had a private room with its own bathroom the main room was small but efficient . The bathroom has been recently renovated and is modern however, the toilet kept flushing all night as the flange needed to be replaced. The walls in the room could use a good paint job . The staff were friendly and accommodating in the hotel and in the restaurant. I would suggest if you have a lot of luggage to book on the first or second floor as there is no elevator if you have a lot of luggage. For the price point overall I found The Rex a great place to stay for location and convenience .I would definitely stay here again.

The room was clean and not shabby.Front desk staff were friendly and helpful and teh night security staff was availabe when I mis laid my key after front desk went home Walls are unfortunately thin and hallway noise is audible. Bathrooms were small but also very clean.
