This was a last minute deal for a late arrival. It was fair but lacked a few things I find comfortable and enjoyable when on the road. The lady who helped me check in was nice and helpful. 5 stars for her!
The room was not as clean it could have been. It felt like it might be time for a refresh. I didn't like that there wasn't a fitted sheet as the flat sheet they draped over the mattress wasn't staying in place. The two recliners were nice although I didn't use them. The bed felt old and not as fresh and clean as I have had at other places. The sink area and toilet areas were small and worn.
The breakfast area was small and only a handful of people were in there. I'm hoping we were there during slow season so they didn't have as many options but it was disappointing. Maybe it's because the other couple got all the good stuff before me or they just didn't care to stock it much as they didn't expect so many people at breakfast. I didn't try the waffle iron as I heard a other gentleman say it wasn't working properly. Could be user error but the room was small and I didn't want to stick around much longer. Overall, it was an average stay in an area with limited options. It worked for the price and I believe cleanliness is possible at any price level.
The Western Inn is a simple country hotel with such a wonderful atmosphere. The rooms were clean and quiet. The lobby and halls were decorated. The staff was friendly and the breakfast was great. They even had scrambled eggs! I would definitely stay at the Western Inn again and recommend it to travelers who arenât looking for a fancy expensive hotel.
Check in was quick and easy and there was one complimentary chocolate chip cookie left in the lobby when I arrived after 930pm. Continental breakfast was decent with a couple of hot options (scrambled eggs and a waffle maker), but they were put of 2% milk for cereal when I went; there didn't appear to be anyone attending the breakfast area. The biggest disappointment was the lack of counter space around the sick and the fixture were from the 70s. Some parts of the rooms were refurbished, but not all.
We checked in late and it was a very smooth process. Carol was awesome! The room was clean, the bed was comfortable and the water pressure was good! We loved that the room had recliners in it as well as microwaves and refrigerators. I would definitely stay here again. The free breakfast is also a nice touch! I recommend the Belgian waffles!
The only downfalls to note: there is no elevator and the bathroom is very small. Not a lot of counter space at the sink area. The property is older but they keep it very nice and clean! Like I said, I would totally stay here again!!
