Our stay was very pleasant, lovely home, and great location. However, it would have been nice to have working tv remotes. There were 4 remotes none of which the maintenance technician could repair. He gave us a new one which worked fine. Kleenex, a colander, and salad spinner would have been great to have. We hope to rent this house again!
The carpets smelt like pee and when we reached out they said all they could do is give febreeze. When I asked for a discount they said it was a minor inconvenience and thatâs not enough to compensate. The place needs carpets replaced. Itâs a health hazard.
Constructive criticism: we couldn't find a remote control that worked on the tv, bring your own Roku like we did, and you're fine. The pots and pans should be in better shape than they are. How about a decent broom and dust pan that we can use. Minor stuff about using someone else's house. 5 stars, we'll rent this house again.
My partner and I, plus our dog, enjoyed a nice couple of days at the home. The home itself was nice and clean, with plenty of space for us. We expressed the desire to come back in the future. Unfortunately, this is the second time we have come into an issue with the property management company, Vacasa - this time being extremely disheartening and fearing for the safety of our pet. Vacasa contacted us asking if we would like to extend our checkout time until 2 pm for an extra fee, which we quickly agreed to. On our final day, about 3 hours before our checkout time, while my partner and I left our dog at the house to pick up lunch (leaving him alone for a very brief amount of time), we returned to the home and the code to unlock the door had been changed and our dog was trapped inside the home with no way for us to get in. On top of this, the area the cabin is located has no cell service and we were unable to contact Vacasa for assistance. We had to drive back into town to get a hold of Vacasa who were luckily able to help us. If there had not been a spare key in the lockbox (that we were unaware of and not given access to until this emergency) our dog would have been trapped inside the home for who knows how long. I have decided to give the property 3 stars (the home itself was nice) due to the event that occurred and how unprofessional Vacasa was. If you decide to stay here, please be weary of the access code changing on the final day of your stay.
Very convenient to the tahoe donner wellness center. Great mudroom for being able to gear up/down. Ample space. Nice den/kitchen area and comfortable lounging on the large couch.
My family and I stayed at this property over a weekend. It was convenient to everything. There was a snow park pretty much down the road and we were able to walk to it. The children totally enjoyed it. The house was very clean nice. The only caveat is that if youâre allergic to animals, this is not the place to stay. Otherwise, this was a great find.
Amazing spot and great location, convenient to Donner Lake and ski resorts nearby. The place was a perfect size for the six people and dog in our group.
The house is great in all ways. However the property management company Vacasa isn't transparent about amenities. The hot tub listed and featured in photographs is NOT functional - something you do not figure out until after you book on the Vacasa app. Access to the Donner Club House is $20/per person per day - so those "amenities" require additional funds that are above the rental price. Vacasa was not supportive in solving this at all.
