We had a great experience at Gore Creek. Clean, great location, great house for a group. excellent communication. some of the groups second time staying there.
This home looks pretty wonderful when you view the listing but what isn't made clear is that the home has 3 levels with bedrooms on each level and the kitchen / living area is on the second level down.
So you enter on the top floor, which has 2 bedrooms and a living area with a pool table. The rest of the house is below you, so you descend a large winding staircase to find the next level which contains the kitchen, dining and living area as well as access to the deck and grill area, a bedroom with several bunk beds, a powder room with a large shower as well as a media room that is accessed through the bedroom with the bunk beds. This level is the where you will spend most of your time but is also the most difficult to negotiate. The living area is several steps down from the walkway to the kitchen and the access to the deck is via a landing that is 4 to 5 inches below the kitchen. Confused? I personally tripped over this short step 4 times during our stay and may need surgery to repair a torn bicep that occurred when I caught myself as I was falling on the second trip. This is why I named this home "Goat House". The master bedroom is located down another large winding stairway that descends to the lower level where the master as well as two more bedrooms (one ensuite and one with a hall bath) are found. So if you are staying in the master bedroom you need to ascend two long flights of stairs to exit the home to get to your car. Getting luggage down there was strenuous.
Very much enjoyed our stay and the home had everything we could possibly need. Excellent and responsive support from the team made things easy and 6-8" of snow a day sure helped a lot as well (make sure you request that before you go).
This property is a beautiful and clean home situated about a 5 min drive from Lionshead village in Vail. Check-in Instructions were sent prior to our arrival, which I admittedly had not read ahead of time.
After landing and picking up our rental car, we pulled up to the house at 2:30pm. The âcaretakerâ who lives on the property met us outside and began a rude and hostile exchange with us because we came 1.5 hrs prior to check-in. In fact, his demeanor and behavior were completely unprofessional and unbecoming of someone who is in the âhospitalityâ business. Not to mention, the exchange with my husband took place in front of four children.
I would not recommend staying at this VRBO. Again, the home was beautiful, but the caretaker needs a lesson or two in hospitality!

We loved your home the only thing we would
Suggest were new/better bed pillows.
Because Iâm a clean freak would have loved having a vacuum (but thatâs just me)lol
New guest book and hammock(was advertised in listing)would have been nice.
Your home is lovely snd we really enjoyed our time thereâŠ.absolutely amazing being by the creek!!!
PS: may want to check the grill (clean the jets) it misfires when trying to start it)
Thank you for sharing your homeâŠ.we definitely would rent it again if the opportunity presents itself!

This place is by far the best place we have stayed at in Vail. Our group of friends come up every year and love to hang out together. The living room is great for that as is the kitchen and dining area. The open floor plan allows everyone to be together and enjoy each other's company while cooking, eating, or watching TV. Great kitchen, rooms, and hot tub too. Overall excellent experience!
The house accommodated our family well. We have family in the area that joined us for dinner and everyone was comfortable. Access to the bus that took the skiers to the slopes was great. The house is dated and some things need attention but we had a great time.
We loved this house. Everything we needed with lots of space for everyone to spread out. Great location on the bus route. Would definitely stay here again.
Great home to celebrate Thanksgiving week. When we werenât enjoying the great home, we were out skiing & fishing. You canât beat this location on the river. We had Thanksgiving dinner and the kitchen had everything and more we needed to make the feast.
PS- The caretaker Adam is super helpful also should there be anything you need.
