🌴: What kind of space is this?
Welcome to our family’s Magic Makaha Ohana — a single-story retreat in sunny West Oahu. This is home to our little family of three, where evenings often end with our daughter Lizzie stargazing from the lanai. Occasionally, wild peacocks wander into the yard. Lizzie always tries to pet them — no luck yet, but she wouldn't give up!

The layout is ideal for large families and groups:
🛏️ Bedroom 1: KING bed, en-suite bathroom, walk-in closet + optional twin fold-away bed
🛏️ Bedroom 2: Queen bed + optional twin fold-away bed, and a bathroom
🛏️ Bedroom 3: Bund full-over-full bunk bed + one pullout twin bed, + a 4th optional twin fold-away bed
🛏️ Living Room: two LazyBoy QUEEN sofa beds that can turn into QUEEN beds at night
🌴: Is the home spacious and comfortable for the price?
Yes — it’s rare to find a legal short tern rental, single family home this size and this new (built in 2023), especially one that’s so well-equipped for families. With 1,582 square feet of step-free living, flexible sleeping arrangements, and peaceful surroundings, it offers a great balance of space, comfort, and value.
🌴: Is the home secure?
Yes — the community is protected by 24-hour gated security. There are also outdoor security cameras (front door, sides, backyard, driveway), along with one camera in the garage facing the garage door — all outward-facing and there for safety and peace of mind.
🌴: Can friends or visitors stop by during the stay?
Absolutely! The home is for quiet stays, so only registered guests are allowed overnight. If you're unsure whether your plans are a fit, just reach out — happy to clarify.
🌴: Is it baby- and kid-friendly?
Definitely. As parents, we’ve stocked the home with thoughtful touches to make traveling with little ones easier: High chair, Pack-n-play, board games, etc

There are enough room for 4 cars, two designated parking spots, plus room for two additional cars in the driveway.

Makaha Beach — one of the island’s most scenic and uncrowded beaches — is just 5 minutes away.
if you're lucky after the rain, you might catch a waterfall cascading down from the Makaha mountains — truly one of those once-in-a-lifetime sights.
🌴: How far is the home from Waikiki?
It’s about a 1-hour drive — just enough distance to enjoy all that Waikiki has to offer, then retreat back to a peaceful home base. Many guests say it’s the perfect setup: explore the island by day, then come “home” for a quiet evening, a homemade meal, and a good night’s sleep — all without the hustle and bustle. A lot of past guests are regulars in Oahu, and they’ve told me they actually prefer staying here over Waikiki or the North Shore!
