The Space:
This cozy one-bedroom apartment offers a comfortable and private retreat with plenty of character. The living area features a comfortable sofa, Smart TV, and dining space, while the separate bedroom provides a full-size bed and a peaceful place to rest.
The compact kitchenette is thoughtfully equipped with the essentials, including a two-burner induction cooktop, microwave, coffee maker, refrigerator, and sink—ideal for preparing simple meals and enjoying coffee at home.
The bathroom features a beautifully tiled walk-in shower with a rainfall showerhead, while the apartment also includes reliable Wi-Fi for guests who need to work or stay connected.
Guests can also enjoy access to the charming garden area, with lush greenery, a small pond, outdoor seating, and a chiminea. It’s a lovely spot to enjoy some fresh air and a quiet moment during your stay.
The apartment is located on the lower level of a row home. There is a family living above, and as is common in historic D.C. homes, everyday sounds such as footsteps and general household activity may be audible between the two levels.
Guest Access:
Guests have private access to the entire apartment during their stay. The garden is also available for guests to enjoy, offering a peaceful outdoor space with seating and greenery.
Please note that garden access is restricted after 7 PM. The upstairs portion of the home has a separate entrance and is occupied by a family.
The Neighborhood:
Set in Capitol Hill’s Historic District, this apartment puts you within easy reach of some of Washington, D.C.’s best dining, entertainment, and landmarks. The lively H Street Corridor is nearby, with a great mix of restaurants, bars, live music, and the Atlas Performing Arts Center, while Eastern Market offers a wonderful local experience with its historic market, weekend food vendors, crafts, antiques, and live music.
Many of D.C.’s most popular attractions are also close by, including the U.S. Capitol, Library of Congress, Supreme Court, U.S. Botanic Garden, National Mall, Union Market, Folger Shakespeare Library, Barracks Row, Navy Yard, National Arboretum, and Nationals Park.
The neighborhood is easy to explore on foot or by bike, with Metro, bus, and streetcar connections nearby. Rideshare services such as Uber and Lyft are also readily available, making it easy to explore everything the city has to offer—from museums and historic landmarks to live music, theater, comedy, and dining.
Getting Around:
Getting around D.C. is easy from this location, with several convenient transportation options nearby. The DC Streetcar is less than half a mile away and runs along H Street to Union Station, providing an easy connection to the city’s Metro system.
Capital Bikeshare stations and multiple bus routes are also within a few blocks, including the D6, 90, 92, and X8. Union Station is approximately a 20-minute walk, under 10 minutes by bike, or about 11 minutes by bus.
Several major attractions, including Eastern Market, Union Market, Capitol Hill, the U.S. Capitol, Library of Congress, and H Street, are also within walking distance. Uber, Lyft, and taxis are readily available throughout the neighborhood.
Limited free street parking may be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Please pay close attention to posted parking signs and restrictions.
Other Things to Note:
-The apartment is located on the lower level and generally stays cool and comfortable. The HVAC is controlled from the main house, so please reach out if you would like the temperature adjusted. Space heaters are available during the winter months.
Garden access is available during your stay but is restricted after 7 PM.
Family-friendly amenities, including a Pack ’n Play, are available upon request.
The property is part of a multi-level home, and some everyday household sounds from the family living upstairs may be heard within the apartment.
