Great Little Getaway!

We love Little Washington and found the best little gem with the Tar Hut! Directly across from the docks and water sports rentals. Very easy walk to the amazing restaurants and breweries downtown. Highly recommend! The owner communicated throughout our stay and the house was stocked with all of the necessities. We will definitely be back!

Perfect!!

We visited Washington with friends for a long weekend and stayed at Tar Hut. It is wonderful and just perfect! The home is beautifully decorated, it is the perfect location and the accommodations were fantastic for two couples. Amy kept in touch with me to make sure we were enjoying our stay and to see if we had questions, etc throughout. She is a wonderful hostess! She has done a wonderful job with Tar Hut- it is beautiful and she has really thought of everything! The porch is fantastic and so relaxing! We will definitely return to Tar Hut!

Amazing Amazing Home!!!

I can’t say enough about this property. The pictures online don’t exude how beautiful and clean this home is. It also had all the amenities you’d need - full kitchen, toiletries, cooler and camping chairs - you name it! And it’s right on the gorgeous waterfront and walkable to the cutest town with delicious restaurants and a nice walking path along the marina and waterfront. Amy was also so attentive on text when needed. 10/10!!

Lovely home and great location

We enjoyed our stay- there are so many nice touches in the home that make it comfortable. The kitchen and baths are fully stocked with all needed supplies. The beds are comfortable, the decor is unique and the location is perfect for walking around and exploring Washington. We can’t wait to visit again!

Outstanding Property in a very cozy town

We had the best experience under questionable conditions. We were down for a parents week at ECU (Greenville, NC). We had no options to stay in Greenville as all hotels were sold out. This turned out to be a huge win for us. Even though we were in Washington for a weekend of tropical storm conditions, flooding downtown streets, blinking electrical power (that actually never went down), we had the best weekend at this great little house by the river. Communications with the owner of the property certainly set our minds at ease under the adverse conditions. Great house, great town, great owners....We even made it through the rainy football game @ ECU.

Wonderful stay

This home was perfect for our family's long weekend in Washington. Beautifully furnished, clean, comfortable and extremely well-stocked. No Detail Left Out!

This small house was immaculate and suited my family of 4 perfectly! The location was in the historic downtown district, right across the street from the NC estruarium. We could walk to numerous restaurants and unique shops. Our favorite was just walking along the water and coming back to relax on the awesome porch. The homeowner has an eye for design. All the finishes and furniture were a wonderful mix of modern comfort with some retro antiques. We really appreciated the little extras: bottles of water cold in the fridge, basic condiments provided, soaps, coffee fixings, too many to mention! The homeowner checked in frequently to make sure we were taken care of. Truly lovely and we will look to book again the next time we are in town.

Loved our stay

We stayed in this home while visiting family and enjoyed the hospitality of the hosts immensely. The atmosphere of the decor and amenities were perfectly done and gave us a feeling of being pampered in a resort. The kitchen is large and well equipped for cooking. Bedrooms are relaxing and comfortable. The hosts have thought about details that make the stay wonderful. All rooms are spotlessly clean and everything is in good working order. The location is within a very short walk to the Pamlico River, restaurants, and shopping in downtown Washington. We definitely will stay here again. Amy, the host, communicated with us frequently and made sure we had everything we needed. An excellent choice for a long or short term stay.

Amazing everything!

The location was perfect walking distance to everything downtown and waterfront. Upon arrival, parking was so easy even for oversized vehicles, inside and out was decorated top knotch, amenities were in every room and the entire place was over the top clean! We will be booking again! The only downfall is when the word gets out on this hidden gem, we won’t be able to snag it again!

Tar Hut Awesome!

We were in town for graduation events and the Tar Hut was fabulous! Gorgeously decorated; my daughter made pictures of ideas to steal. Amy had thought of every single extra touch to ensure we were taken care of from fresh flowers to bottled water and extra shout out for the toothpaste we forgot😊Thank you!

A beautiful retreat

The Tar hut is a beautiful, comfortable and peaceful place to stay. It’s close to downtown and across the street from the NC Estuarium. It affords everything you need for a short or long stay. We would most defiantly stay here again.

By far the best VRBO I've stayed in EVER

This trip was perfect in every way! The house was clean and beautiful and had every thoughtful touch imaginable. The owner missed nothing! The area was perfect...walkable to a cute downtown and across the street from the river. We were in town for my son's competition, but my kids are begging to go back for vacation. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
