A disappointing visit

On 25Mar2025 upon returning to our hotel after a day in the city, we viewed approximately 4-5 police vehicles and and an ambulance in the drop-off area. We asked the front desk personnel what happened and were informed very casually, "I don't know anything" and turned her head away. This left my sister and I with an uneasy feeling about staying the night. We also asked three employees for a shower mat, as the floor of the tub was extremely slippery. One employee did not speak english, one stated she would have one delivered to our room and the third employee stated that the hotel did not have a shower mat.

Do NOT recommend! The hotel was clean, and the cleaning staff did what was asked of them, but we had to ask every day for our room to be serviced. Very frustrating to come back after a long DC visit to a dirty room, full trash, and no towels The worst was the front desk staff. They never had solutions to anyone’s problems. I overheard to several other customers as well as to us every excuse why they couldn’t do something or have something. Someone couldn’t pay a certain way, even tho it was an approved way to pay, and they had to wait until blah blah blah. They couldn’t refill the water because blah blah blah. They don’t have coffee or tea available because blah blah blah. I don’t know why you were charged twice, blah blah blah. For the price we paid, and the name Marriott, I expected much better customer services. You can stay in a safer area for the same price. I recommend that! But not here

Hotel was very clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. Beds were comfortable. Plenty of extra linen. I did not use the shampoo or conditioner as I am picky, but the body wash and lotion were nice also! Very spacious, sofa bed is your typical, can fluff it up for more comfort. My kids went to breakfast, said there were a lot of choices and was all very tasty. Area can be a little unimpressive, but the hotel itself was very nice. Others have mentioned issues with car vandalism, we had no issues.
