When we arrived, the air conditioning was OFF. The temperature was 88 degrees inside the house and it was even hotter upstairs. I do not know why someone didn't come to the house and set the air to 75. (That is the check out procedure renters are supposed to follow.) It sleeps 6, but there are only 3 coffee cups, 2 forks, 2 butter knives and 3 spoons. Someone had put plastic silverware in a cupboard by the sink, so that was good. There is no kitchen table. It doesn't show one in the photos and I admit, I missed that detail. That is a big deal for our family who like to play games at night. Also, you can't eat together, unless you stand at the island countertop that is pictured. After walking around museums all day, we didn't really want to stand to eat. . Only seating for 5 in the living room ... and none of it is comfortable.
We dealt with a few malfunctions during our stay. Garbage disposal was leaking and washer machine kept giving us an error message. The host fixed one problem while we were there, but that took 2 days. Living room furniture was so uncomfortable
The kitchen sink was leaking bad from the bottom the first hour we were there and never was repaired for our stay even after contacting the host, had to keep emptying a bowl and wiping up water so we could use it. The washing machine wouldnt work half the time and had to be restarted constantly. And alot of the amenities like dishes were missing or dirty and had to be washed first. The basement floor bedroom leaked water when it rained. It is a nice place over all and has alot of potential but needs a little better up keep. Not a terrible experience but not the best either
Health hazard safety violations red flag accommodations
The lighting and descriptions of these accommodations are extremely deceiving. We should have noticed the 1st red flag: no response or communication from the host after acceptance of the reservation, after numerous attempts were made on our end.My party and I arrived in DC, after 3 months of arranging this trip, without having received ANYTHING from the host. So, as soon as we landed WE had to contact VRBO in order for the host to even get back to us with the access code to the property. BUT, before we could even receive that, the host wanted to confirm receipt of MORE MONEY for: early check-in, additional number of guests, and late check out. All of which were questions that were asked anf left unanswered for 3 months. Red flag 2.Once the host confirmed payment, we finally received the code to the property. First 3 hours of our planned vacation of fun wasted. We arrive at the property, open the door, to be greeted by an overpowering unpleasant sour odor. The furniture looked like you might contract something if you sat on it. The floors were sticky. The 'jacuzzi' tub is merely a lil jetted tub. 1 bathroom still had pee, tissue and poo in it (wish we'd discovered this when the host was with us as proof that the cleaning person didn't really clean anything. Red flag #3There were NO batteries in ANY of the smoke detectors. Health and safety violation. Red flag #4The host was combative, why are you arguing with guests about their valid concerns of the reserved property?
This place was by far the worst experience that Iâve ever had with this company. The location was in a terrible area and the window on the backside of the house was cracked and unlocked as if someone was squatting in the house. There was a half eaten plate in the oven along with trash in the trash can on the lower level. This type of experience makes me second guess using this company again. Iâm still waiting for VRBO to make this situation right. I never slept a single night in this house. It felt really unsafe for me and my family. Vrbo attempted to contact the company but apparently theyâve been unsuccessful. Itâs been 2 weeks since my reservation, and I havenât heard anything to rectify my experience.
Overall our stay was satisfactory the number of beds are misleading and we couldnt get the tvs working properly but it wasnt a big deal we were here for a convention so we were out most of the time the neighborhood was excellent clean and peaceful
The house was very nice and in a good location. It was perfect for our family. If we go back to the DC area I will check to see if this property is available.
The whole house was ours. We have autistic child. She qas ve4y happy, she enjoyed the backyard. We had kitchen to prepare food for our child who cannot outside food. We really enjoyed staying here. Checking in and out was so c9nvenient. The owner responded quickly
unfortunately the pictures DO NOT represent this property. There was no sofa and coffee table in the living room, just an uncomfortable futon. The lower bedroom was flooded because the sump pump was broken and the property mgr. and repair man came unannounced late at night to fix it. There were very limited pots and pans, no mixing bowls to prepare meal recipes, no dressers to unpack luggage, many steps to climb and def. NOT handicap accessible.
Our stay was pretty good. The host was very responsive to our request. The neighborhood was calm, clean, and the people were friendly. The house was clean.
Four adults staying for four nights and the living room has one futon to sit on. The photos showed a couch, chairs and coffee table. Four cold not fit on the futon and it did not really have a back, so it was very uncomfortable. The bedrooms were very poorly furnished, nowhere to set your phone, CPAP etc.
Close to everythingâŠ.. Communication was great and quick. Check in was flawless, requested early check in and that was granted and great. Property was clean, beds are comfortable and was equipped with everything we needed. We will be returning!!!
This is a three-story renovated house in a great location - but it is necessary to have a car. There is no public transportation nearby. The owner was very attentive and helpful during our stayâfew hiccups along the stay which were promptly taken care of. I highly recommend this house!
