Cette maison d'hĂŽtes 3 de Waterford est non-fumeurs.
I didn't realize how far this was from the key areas of Waterford or that it was such a basic accommodation. It is fine if you understand these factors.
Although I didn't ultimately stay at Hazelbrook, I would like to commend the manager, Graham, for his professionalism & resilience, in twice finding alternative accommodation when it proved not to be possible for me to stay there, then understanding when my own plans changed at the last moment. This was a most impressive example of excellent customer service in challenging circumstances.
The host was gracious and accommodating though we were surprised to find they only accepted cash payment. The room itself was quite small, and modestly outfitted. Bedding was stained and threadbare, no toiletry amenities, and shower was in poor condition. The room appeared âcleanedâ, but bed/pillows were worn and rather uncomfortable (not to mention the stains on linens that were off putting).
Booked for college as i only had 2 weeks and when i received a call confirmation i realised that it was for a different BnB, which i had been moved to without notice or permission.
Awful experience. Got shunted to an unauthorised sub standard house a few days beforehand. Lady insisted on cash only and wouldnât provide breakfast.
My booking clearly states breakfast included. I am not willing to be taken advantage of so left..
Shame on you greedy @hazelbrook
Highly recommended for anyone who wants to experience prison life.
We booked a suite with 4 beds for 3 adults and received a room with a double bed and a cot with no space to walk around or place the luggage. We complained with the host and he said it was a family room as requested (judge yourself from the photos).
PS: we booked this room 4 months in advance, so we think this is an improvised accomodation to earn more money selling our room to an other larger group.
Very very basic. It was just about ok for our one night stay. Didnât get the 4 person room I reserved. Instead got split across 2 rooms, one was a double room with a fold up bed on the floor other was an attic room where you couldnât standup (looked like it had been just set up for us).
Host insisted on cash up on arrival, bathroom were unclean and a little smelly. Rooms where dusty with visible mould.
We literally slept over night and moved on so it was ok, glad we werenât staying longer. It was the only place I could reserve on that night but wouldnât recommend this location.
They contacted me 4 days before my arrival date to say that the location to stay changed, they when I arrived no one seemed to know about my reservation, I drove back to the B&B and the host said that he was mad about the situation but there was no room for me. Expedia never answered me either. At least they arranged to find another location to stay at night, it was under construction building but at least a place to sleep, this was the worst experience for sure.
AVOID! Upon arrival, the owner insisted on cash and that we would receive no breakfast even though our receipt clearly acknowledged our reservation which included free breakfast. In our room on the back of the door there was another sign indicating what time breakfast was being served, yet we were excluded and others were receiving breakfast the next morning. Our room was tiny, dirty and I killed numerous insects within the first couple of hours. The bed was a very old box spring, which had springs protruding out of the fabric so sharply that my hand actually got caught on the spring while moving my hand across the bed. The bathroom was dirty, had no soap and had towels so old and rough I wouldnât even use them to wash my car. There was no Wi-Fi, there were people yelling and children running around the hallways until past 11 pm. All of this, and an atmosphere that reminded me of a funeral home while also being in a terrible location. There is a Travelodge down the street.
NOT RECOMMENDED! Room was tired to say the least. The Bathroom/ shower room was the main problem with the accommodation, water pressure was none existence, you had to be pretty fit to open & close the shower doors. The toiletwas appalling with sewerage smell continual. On arrival the proprietor requested cash and advising no breakfast was avaliable. And suggesting the card was only a fall back, I advised that I would sort in the morning, he said he had heard that before, I can understand why, if you spent a night in that room, the payment of the full amout might become an issue.
No breakfast included, even the hotels.com page said so. Polite and friendly host, but other than that, this wast just average. B&B without Breakfast is just a B.
If you know what I mean.
I had a very good stay, the service was great and even allowed me to store luggage in the morning, long before check in, so that I could explore the city less the baggage. The room was large and the beds were comfortable and clean.
Was disappointed to learn upon arrival that payment was due in cash and they were not serving breakfast even tho it was advertised as a BnB. Coffee and wrapped pastries could have been provided. Furniture in sun room needs attention. The host was very friendly and polite
The stay was adequate. The shower was antiquated, There was either scalding hot, or freezing cold water, no in between. The host was available and responded to requests. Breakfast was not included. He said it was due to Covid. Covid has been around for over a year. He should change the Breakfast Included amenity on the booking site.
So first let me say the manager was friendly when I arrived but it went downhill from there.
I wasn't put in a room in this B&B but rather another one a few doors down the street. I had also booked a family room because it had a desk and a chair in the room (handy for eating and doing some work) but I was put into a small room with just a bed that took up most of the room. I was in a bit of a rush so I said I would address it when I got back, but it was late by the time I returned so I just hopped into the bed.
I found several hairs in the bed which wasn't pleasant. On the topic of cleanliness the room was clean but everything was fairly outdated, wallpaper peeling off, a stale smell in the en suite, the lamp didn't work and the blinds definitely needed a clean.
I figured though look I'm not paying a lot I'll let most of that stuff slide but I soon found out that the place must have been student accommodation or something because when I was in bed the second night there must have been a party because they other tenants were all talking to each other in the hallway until after 2am (there was a communal bathroom right outside my room as well which kept having its door slammed). Then I was woken up at 7am by more noise. Had to cancel my plans off hiking with friends I was so tired.
Called the manager to use the iron & ironing board, they didn't have one even though it's listed here.
Finally parking is very tight. If other people are staying don't expect to get out easy!
