The room was clean and tidy. The staff were helpful and friendly. There was a good breakfast selection. The hotel is in a good location, which was close to railway station and buses, so very convenient for me. I wish there was a fridge in the room. I enjoyed my stay. I would defintely book here again

Breakfast was OK and decent. Very small plates though. Room was clean. We visited on the 10th to 11th of Jan. Room was cold and as we travelled as a family the 1 room air con/heating did not work. The other room controls were not easy air con was so loud and heating struggled to get above 18°C. We were 2 mins walk away from Watford junction which was ideal as we could pick up the Harry Potter experience shuttle bus direct which took only 10 mins to get to the attraction. Good location.

The room was great and the double bed was brilliant. As we are a family of 4 (2 young children) the sofa bed was set up for us, this bed was not up to any kind of standard. If seems extremely old and the mattress had lumps all over, this did not enable the people sleeping on it to sleep at all. The breakfast was outstanding!!!

Not sure who or how this hotel is rated as excellent. The hotel looks modern until you look at the detail. eg dirty carpets, tired in places reception area, carpets in the room worn out and dirty. There is grime in the lifts, doors chipped etc. Bathroom was nice clean and modern! Breakfast was included and decent. I think the hotel probably attracts a certain type of person and also is not really cleaned and maintained. In my opinion this hotel and brand is over priced for a Holiday Inn. Id rather pay half the price and go stay at a 3 star hotel.
