We stayed here when it was owned by another person and really enjoyed the stay. This time we got there and one of the TV's was missing, a call to the manager got that resolved quickly but the person that put it in said we had to use our ROKU account to use the TV. The TV in the bedroom was already set-up with ROKU so not sure why we had to log on. One of the bedside lamps had no bulb, mentioned that but it wasn't resolved. Lamp in the living room went on and off on it's own, mentioned but unresolved as well. One of the chairs in the living room was very unstable and appeared to be on the point of breaking. Lastly the back door was extremely hard to lock/unlock and that was where the lockbox was. The place was clean and had plenty of dish/silver ware. This is a great place with the exception of the things listed above.
Once we saw that Waynesville was open to visitors We booked last minute to come up for apples and to enjoy the Apple Festival. This property was perfect! One block off Main Street and walking distance to the festival and downtown Waynesville with lots of neat stores and restaurants. Very clean, bed was really nice--much more comfortable than most rentals. We didn't use the twin in the 2nd room but I assume it was just as nice. WIFI and cable TV were excellent--included local channels and ESPN! (Hubs was happy!) The kitchen was fully stocked--we were only here three nights so I didn't cook but looked around and there was even an Instant Pot!!!
If you're here for apple season make sure to go to Barber Orchards store. Apples, pastries, cider, etc. Best we've found anywhere. If you're a book lover, Sylva has City Lights (new and used) and the Friends of the Library has a wonderful store in downtown-well organized with a huge selection and great prices.
Two suggestions--make sure you bring shampoo and hand soap as that was the only thing missing. Luckily we always carry the hotel samples so not an issue; also, when you get to the house turn down the side street---the parking is in the back. Tons of space and easily accessible. We had to go around the block as we thought parking was in front.
All in all---one of the better properties we have stayed at; we hope to stay there again on a future trip.
This home that the owners have cleverly dubbed the âstones throw from Mainâ what is the perfect place to spend a week in the mountains of North Carolina. It was easy to walk to coffee, lunch and dinner. The home was well appointed and comfortable and perfect for my needs. Highly recommended!
The property location was fantastic. It was close and a convenient walk to everything in town. The only drawback is that it is on a very busy and noisy street corner.
We loved the location and the accommodations were what we expected. A couple of days in, we saw a mouse run by while we were watching tv in the living room. We closed up where it went to and contacted the property manager a couple of times, and they never contacted us back nor did anything about it⊠The location is great, but mice in the home is too much for me.
Love Love Love.Situated right around the block from downtown Waynesville you can walk to shops .House has a fenced yard for privacy.Well maintained old home so cute.No dishwasher or washer/dryer which was fine with me.Front porch with rockers.
The location is in a great area. You can walk to downtown and be there in two minutes. If you need to grocery shop or make a run to Walmart it is a 5 minute drive. Only 20 minute drive or so to Asheville. Wonderful location. The views are awesome.
The home was great. It was perfectly sized for me and my husband. The house was so close to downtown (just around the corner); we had a great dinner at the Japanese restaurant. The kitchen, while tiny, was perfect for bacon and for appetizers when our family came over to visit. The host was very responsive.
This home is very charming and we will book again. Strongly recommend.
The location of the property is its biggest asset. It was just right for my wife and I and our pup. It is literally one block off Main Street. We could visit the shops downtown and return home when we needed to. Because of its location a âStones Throw from Everytingâ we expected traffic but it wasnât much of a noise problem at all.
This little cottage is in a great location. We walked downtown several times. Night strolls through downtown were a nice, quiet and relaxing end to the day. We loved the rockers on the front porch. Sitting there drinking our coffee in the mornings or relaxing at the end of the day was nice. While there, we visited Maggie Valley, Cherokee and hiked Waterrock Knob off the Blue Ridge Parkway. All were short drives.
The one thing I would like to point out is that the parking is in what looks like a vacant lot behind the house, not a driveway. It took us a minute to figure this out. Once we figured it out, it was very easy to park with a shade tree to park under.
Dated, but efficient. The only thing lacking is washer/dryer, but it is a small house, so makes sense. Great location, good parking, comfy bed, even a garden grill and chairs.
The house was perfect for our 3 day trip. The fenced in back yard made in convenient for our 2 dogs. The location was nice with a great place to park and turn around. If you walked 100 feet, you were on the main drag of downtown Waynesville. Most every store had a dog friendly sign. We spoke with a property person who was very helpful and even got us a reservation for supper just minutes away. It was cool outside so I set the heat to 72; minutes later, the house was perfect. The neighborhood was perfect; we had great privacy with no worries. It sure beats a hotel.
This was a beautiful cottage in a great location. They were pet friendly which was a huge plus for us so we could bring our dogs. We greatly enjoyed our stay and if we are back in the area again we will definitely stay there.
