We liked the shuttle ride to and from the Wheeling Downs Casino. And to local restaurant and local market. Was very pleased with are stay. Everyone was so very nice and accommodating to all are needs.

No amenities

The woman that checked us in had just come in from a smoke break that she was taking under the awning out front of the hotel. She smelt heavily of cigarettes. Was short. Didn’t give me any perks even though I’m an honors member and have gotten perks at every other hotel I stayed at. When I got into the shower I found out the hard way there was no conditioner or body wash in the shower. Then when I got out I figured out there was no lotion. When I checked out after my one night stay I mentioned it to the woman working the counter. Her response was “did you call down and let us know?” I said no, I’m telling you now. She replied that I should let them know next time. All I could think was…when? While I’m in the shower soaked and naked and my family is still sleeping?! Really?! Who in their right mind would call you naked and half clean to bring conditioner, body wash, and lotion to the room to fill the containers that are attached to the wall, and then finish their shower? No mam. I used the shampoo to wash my entire body and my hair is a little crunchy instead of silky smooth.

Hotel was conviently located. Staff was friendly. However when we arrived the pool was closed, originally they just said it was closed. Upon further questioning since I had phoned a day prior to confirm that everything including the pool was functioning it turns out they over clorinated it. Pool reopened next day. Pool floor area was quite dirty which was surprising since they had a whole day to clean with no one there. Also breakfast area around food and tables not very clean. Everything sticky.

We were in Wheeling for my niece’s wedding. Staff was friendly and helpful. This location was impacted my the historic flash flood which occurred the evening of 06/14/2025. The road in front of the hotel was flooded and we couldn’t get back to our room after the wedding reception and had to wait at a supermarket parking lot for the water to recede. I called the hotel the check the status there, and they sent their van to the supermarket parking lot to check on us and give us the go ahead to drive to the hotel. This is above and beyond what was expected.
