Difficult to find on road parking so cost ÂŁ12 for 24 hrs close by.
Shower kept blocking.. loads of hair pulled from plug hole.
Domestic situation in near by room was handled very well by proprietary.
Beds comfy .. tv tiny !
We had a very nice stay at The Esklet Guest House. The owner met us on arrival and gave a very clear instruction on the parking arrangements. It is on street parking, the owner gave us a parking disc for the first night and also a permit for the following two days. Very useful to have clear instruction rather than be left to figure it out yourself.
The accomodation was a large ground floor room. Very clean and comfortable. There is no breakfast as was made clear on the booking, but there is something wrong if you can't find a decent breakfast in Whitby!
All in all we were very pleased with The Esklet and would be happy to stay again next time we visit Whitby.
Thank you.
Comfortable no-frills guest house, well priced and conveniently situated at the top end of Whitby. Parking vouchers are available free to enable street parking outside. The establishment doesnât provide breakfast but there are plenty of options nearby. Thereâs no residents lounge which was not a problem for me but some people might want to know.
There is free WiFi but it is patchy and the phone signal locally is not brilliant. However, it is enough for basic connectivity.
My room had en-suite facilities, tea/coffee, television.
Room cleaning and maintenance was sporadic but adequate and particular requests were met with action.
Overall a good cost effective accommodation. No complaints.
terrible....my wife and i use hotel.com regular and we always enjoy our stay.the hotel advertised parking no parking,,,,we arrived at lunchtime on saturday august 16th...to be briefly told by sally the owner you will have to find a spot on the street.Well you can imagine not an easy job.sally thrust our room key in my hand and dissapered......she gave us a card to display on the dashboard so we did not have to pay she said make sure you in a disc zone.all you need after a long drive is to spend 20 mins trying to find parking..eventually found a spot..walking past the car on sunday there was a par king ticket for ÂŁ50..she did not explain that you had to be in the corret zone...in addition our room was right at top of the guest house we are both in our seventies..we had had enough and came home sunday teatime missing a night..
Location was excellent. Good clean room. The only issue was because we were ground floor level we could here traffic noise and people upstairs banging around. But that would not put us off staying again. Parking was free with a permit.
Great location, was an easy check in and out, short walk down into whitby center but far enoigh to be a peaceful nights sleep, comft beds, there was a slight foisty smell when we first entered the toom but soon went once window was open, would stay agaim for an overnighter.
