The owners were away when I visited and whilst we were still given a warm welcome by Owais it did unfortunately show at breakfast in particular. The first morning the poached eggs werenât cooked enough and the second, despite preordering the salmon and scrambled eggs the night before when it came to being served them I was told they had run out and they also didnât have any of the kippers when I asked for these instead. There is also a rather unpleasant smell coming from either the drains or the macerator in the room we were in (room 12).
Breakfast was well cooked and great and friendly serviceâŠ. Only downside for me was my toilet, no problem with it no being en-suite (room 15) but the toilet itself, very very confide were I struggled to use, sitting downâŠ,
The riviera is in the perfect location, 5 mins to the harbour, but nice and quiet. The hotel room was spotless , of a generous size with an amazing view overlooking the sea.
The owners were very welcoming and the breakfast was faultless along with the service which was exceptional.
It was our first time here, we will be back definitely, this should be a go to stop for anyone visiting Whitby, thank you.
Comfortable room just a shame there were so many stairs as we are both elderly and found them a little daunting. Breakfasts were delicious, especially the porridge! Furniture in bedroom rather old and dated but all in all a very nice guesthouse.
On the West Cliffs with a lovely view of the sea and the harbour from our third floor room (the stairs were tiring after a long day!). Breakfast was lovely with plenty of choice. For ÂŁ3 the guest house can provide a parking card valid for four days in Whitby. We had no trouble parking in the street around the corner.
