Positives: The room was nice and cleaned. It stayed cool in the room. I always found shade and chairs at the beach when needed and beach towels provided by the resort. Cons: The food at the resort was edible, but not good.

I first want to say that Curaçao was amazing—everything about the island deserves a 10-star rating. Unfortunately, Lions Dive Resort was a completely different story. The staff and the accommodations were the worst I have encountered in all my travels, and the employees seemed miserable and unhappy. My wife and I stayed for five days, and during that time we received maybe two smiles and a single “good morning.” From the front desk to the beach, every staff member acted as though we were an inconvenience. No one greeted us, and not once did anyone come over to see whether we needed anything. We had to practically stand up and wave our arms just to order a drink, and when someone finally noticed us, they looked at us with disgust—as if we had spat in their beverages. The front-desk experience was just as poor: rude, miserable employees who responded to any question with eye-rolling or a sarcastic remark. Beware of the so-called “Deluxe Ocean View” rooms; ours did not really have an ocean view. The moment we stepped outside the resort, everything changed. The locals and the restaurants were all pleasant, helpful, and welcoming. Every time we had to return to the resort we felt depressed—we couldn’t wait to leave again and explore the island. Staying at Lions Dive Resort was uncomfortable and disheartening. I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone. Curaçao itself is incredible, but choose a different place to stay.

We had a wonderful stay at LionsDive. The grounds and the beach are beautiful. It is a great place to take a dip, snorkel a bit, or watch the kids play on the beach. The Hemingway restaurant is where we went everyday for breakfast, drinks and dinner. The setting is so nice the other places can’t beat it. We especially loved the live music nights. All around great place to vacation!

The hotel offers free transportation to groceries and shopping which is a nice service. My room had a hole in the wall around the air conditioning wires so sunlight came through (and whatever else!). The room was dated. The balcony overlooked a parking lot. Most of the bar and restaurant staff didn’t seem interested in service. One young bartender was scrolling through his social media as I was waiting for a drink. I would not return.

Our room was near reception. The room was dark. We couldn’t open the blinds as our balcony was fully shared with neighbors. The bathroom had a vented window that was always open forcing us to close off the bathroom to keep the rest of the room air conditioned. Once we used the bathroom it was like a sauna. The hotel maid in the hallway would wake us up each morning with how noise travels in these rooms. The room description does not align with the standards we expected. I would compare this to a motel instead of a hotel. Maybe other rooms are better but they were sold out and moving rooms was not an option.

Lovely hotel, nice rooms, beautiful view, private beach is amazing. Lots of dining options, especially with Mambo Beach strip right next door. Lovely staff, and very helpful. Easy to get taxi's to get around, but honestly could have stayed at resort the whole time. Very clean, very quiet, comfortable bed. Great kitchen amenities. I wish I had known about the app beforehand and the fact that you can get your kitchen filled with food from a supermarket before your arrival!

The hike to the salt flats was amazing. Good location. Very clean, nice showers we rented a car and explored. You need a rental car! Snorkel at tugboat and directors bay, it is amazing.
