Slipping Badly

I was very disappointed with the location of my room. I am a senior with poor knees and I had called the hotel earlier in April requesting a ground floor room but was told none was available but they gave me a choice of a room on the second floor at the end of the hall (away from the elevator) or one close to the elevator. I chose the one close to the elevator. When I registered at the hotel, they gave me the one at the end of the hall. When I complained about the location, I was told that booking through expedia resulted in the poor placement????? I've stayed here for 7 straight years and never had this problem before. The room was never cleaned during my 8 night stay and generally the hotel is beginning to look very tired--torn wallpaper, damage to some fixtures, and often the stairs were very dirty. TV service/picture quality is poor. As a birder, this hotel is very convenient to Point Pelee and is the ONLY reason I would continue to stay here in future. Sadly, it used to be an excellent hotel.

A perfect location for accessing Point Pelee National Park. Large property with lots of rooms and parking. A very unusual design, in that some rooms do not have elevator access or a view to the outside. If you have mobility issues, be aware of this. The room I had was quiet and clean, but some of the plumbing fixtures needed repair. And although the staff were very friendly and helpful, they deactivated my key card a day early. This meant that the stuff I had carried upstairs from the car after being out all day had to be carried back downstairs and left in the car while I sorted it out. And they didn't seem to know when I was leaving. It's the little things that make a great experience, and this just put a bit of a bad twist on an otherwise good experience.

Convenient location close to Point Pelee National Park. Hotel is tired, amenities and rooms could use an upgrade. Rooms are large, were clean enough but there was some dust. Overpriced. Staff are very nice.

It was convenient and the room was comfortable. Breakfast was good and served quickly. Dinner was terrible. I had fish and chips and the fish was the worst I think I have ever had. Dried up and overcooked. And the coleslaw was all onions - bitter. The room was noisy as it looked onto the "fun zone" and people were allowed to continue shouting and screaming after 10.30 pm

The game room is big and has a variety of activities for all ages. Pool area is nice but wish the water slides are for older kids and adults. Room furniture and bathroom fixtures are old, but beds are comfy. Staff is very friendly and fast service if a problem arises. Free coffee, tea and water 24/7 is nice.
