We had 2 couples stay in the studio apartment - we knew it was going to a tight fit based on the listing but it was so worth it! The complex has lots of amenities - ski locker room, hot tub, game room which made it no problem to have 4 people in the studio. Place had everything you need and itâs a short walk through the building to get right to the mountain and ski down to the gondola
Sheets smelled like they hadn't been washed. Only 1 blanket in an apartment that's supposed to sleep 4. Hot tub was out of order, and has been for some time, however Vacasa doesn't indicate that on the listing (and was a huge reason we booked this place). I've been told from Vacasa that someone would reach out for the past 48 hours, but nobody has. Now they're just not responding at this point.
Highly encourage anyone to not rent from a giant corp like Vacasa and rent from a local place or local person.
We enjoyed the ski in ski out at Iron Horse. The accommodations were comfortable and clean for a one room condo. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed and we ate breakfast and lunch every day in the room. The village was a bit of a walk, but if you enjoy the exercise the adults and 2 young kids walked to the village every night for dinner or a concert at the top of the gondola. The fold out couch was surprisingly comfortable. We also enjoyed the game room, hot tub and covered parking amenities. The condo was just as described and clean.
You can't beat the ski in ski out location so we are happy with that. Maintenance needs much to be desired. The hair dryer was broken and I had to request a new one, which did not come until the next day (which defeated the purpose). When we checked in some towels used by previous guests were still on the bathroom hook. There was one broken glass on the top shelf of the dishwasher. The glasses had some old lipstick marks (yuck!). Despite the fact that it's a ski condo there was no kleenex provided. Also there were no paper napkins provided.
I've stayed at the Ironhorse Condo complex with my family for the past 10 years and stayed in a number of units within all the buildings. The unit itself is acceptable yet the initial housekeeping had much to be desired. No clean sheets, in fact no sheets, the first night for the pull out couch. We managed.
There were also only 2 towels for 4 guests; in addition, and this is something that nearly all Ironhorse owners don't mention, is that there are NO TOWELS at the hot tub or pool so you must continually reuse your same towel. Not all on this unit owner but the condo mgmt fees really should have separate towels. Also don't expect fresh towels during your stay unless you contact whoever manages your unit. We didn't need maid service nor did we expect it but fresh towels for any stay beyond a couple of days seems more than reasonable.
Overall our stay was acceptable. We enjoyed the location and we had a great time skiing but the building management and cleaning services were really sub par.
Access to slopes, ski storage next to exit by slopes, hot tubs and inside parking garage were very nice to have! Condo very clean, but building and most units are a little dated.
Many issues with this property. The codes that were given were not the correct codes to get into the building . I had to call 911 at 10 pm when the Cops came they said this is a huge problem with this building they can never get into it and the cops had to help us get in. There was no one ever at the front desk to help the whole stay. There were no details on which building and there were about 6 buildings. Nobody let us know about needing quarters for the washer and dryer. No one in town would give us quarters until we finally figured out there's a quarter machine in the washer room. That would have been nice to know in the reservation. Another incorect code was emailed for the parking garage and it too was not correct and we had to park out in the snow 10 degrees. Once we got the correct codes to park we got a ticket on our car stating we would get towed. We never were told about the parking permit it was hidden in the unit behind the door on the wall where nobody was looking. There was no detail where to find the permit to park in the garage. The ski in ski out was a joke because you can't ski if you can't make reservations is reservation ONLY to get skis . They did not let us know this at time of reservation to make reservations to get rental skis. That ruined the 1st 2 days because we couldn't get skies for my family.
I had to call Vacasa and complain twice and both times I was told that the local Property manager would call me back. Both times he never did. That night our power went off for an hour. Still nobody ever called us. I was told from Vacasa after the 3rd phone call and complained to Nicole the supervisor at Vacasa that the local property manager would not call me he does not want to and that he would not reimburse me either for anything. I thought even 1 night. I am a host too and I would have for my guests.
I also cannot leave reviews with this place or Vacasa because they don't allow you to do that. It's all very controlled by them so they could care less if I complained or not. I want the owner to read this. Vacasa is horrible get rid of them.
This condo was nice, clean and affordable and was perfect for our stay. The ski-in/ski-out location is awesome. It's also within walking distance to the resort and is on the shuttle route as well. Very convenient. We will be back.
We have stayed at Iron Horse a few times in the last few years and it has gone down hill. This particular unit was in need of a good deep cleaning. Carpets pretty gross and food still between the stove top and counter. Decor was pretty outdated as well. No one on site at the front desk and no longer provide towels at the pool. The unit did not provide enough towels for shower and pool. Location adds a star.
A great stay! The bed was very comfortable! Clean and affordable!!
The game room, whirlpools and steam room added a great value to this trip! Ski in, ski out is perfect!! Not being stuck in the "village" made for quite evenings. This was our 2nd stay and certainly not our last!!
