I traveled with my two kids and would not recommend this place until it gets a deep clean. The description is accurate and the layout is actually fantastic, but this place reeked of cigarette smoke and the carpet was quite dingy. When we got home, my husband even said our clothes and luggage smelled of smoke and we spent no other time around smoke.
Positives: bathrooms (sans lighting issues) were great, towels were nice, having three TVs was a plus (sans remote issue).
Negatives: smoke smell; lighting issues where several lightbulbs were out in one bathroom so it was very dark; lights out in the main room, too, but not as impeding as the bathroom; no cleaning supplies (ie a broom, small vacuum) so if you were there for a while and needed to clean up the floor, you couldnât do it easily; TV remote in main room did not work, so we had to stand on the fireplace and use the buttons to power on/off, change volume/channels manually; door stuck a bit when unlocking so it made initial entry seem difficult.
It seems as though Chula Vista might have been a bit more of a resort in the past, but now seems run down. It looked like they were working on improvements, so maybe itâs back on the upswing.
