A gem in Oxfordshire!

An exceptional stay from start to finish. The whole team were so welcoming and friendly. I got a free upgrade on a Sunday night, so my room was lovely - really spacious, beauitfully decorated, comfy bed, great shower and every amenity you could need - coffee machine, kettle, DAB radio, good TV, iron and hairdryer and beautiful Bramley (cruelty free) toiletries, and some Cotswolds shortbread for a sweet snack! The fan in room was welcome as it's an older, character building with no air-con. There's a bit of noise from outside, but nothing that stopped me getting a good night's sleep and the secondary glazing helped. I had dinner and breakfast downstairs, a fantastic beef roast, and a veggie cooked breakfast with fresh fruit and delicious pastries. Great selection of drinks as you'd expect from a pub hotel, including a good selection of no-alcohol options. A two minute walk to Blenheim Palace as well, which was my main reason for staying. I would absolutely stay again for a relaxing and well-fed break!

A Hot noisy night !

We stayed on a warm day the room was absolutely boiling there was a fan but of little use circulating hot air ,the windows only open a small amount .The extractor fan in the bathroom didn’t work .As it was so hot we left windows open at night and it was probably the noisiest hotel room I’ve ever stayed in ,the road noise was loud and some sort of pump or other was cutting in and out all night !I basically had no sleep at all !.The Breakfast in the morning was good .

Good hotel, great breakfast, no Aircon just a small fan on the hottest day of the year, road noise keeps you awake from about 4am (windows open due to heat) Nice staff but if you have a long drive the next day be aware as sleep could be limited.Stairs are a challenge to.

I could have stayed for months.

Wow I loved this place. the staff were so nice and good (really invested in their guests especially Laura and Evy. The location was marvellous with the entire cute village at your feet. The free breakfast was such a great bonus/ deal. My room ad some retro blue carpeting (I loved it) and large Edwardian windows overlooking the small and delightful village buildings. The bed was very comfy and the room was quiet (just above the pub surprisingly). This is not a soulless modern box hotel and I loved the little things like the rooms being named after historical figures (mine was the Richard Room). Only 2 tings I recommend to improve would be a safe (dont recall there being one) and mixing in a bed fluffy pillow to the ones that were there. I cancelled a day in London to add a 4th night. I actually contemplated what it would be like to rent the room out for a few months and do some riding (I do screenplays) as it was so peaceful not busy at all and just a convenient gorgeous town layout. Thanks for the stay.

This hotel is in a perfect location for visiting Blenheim Palace but the hotel itself is far from perfect. Everything is grubby. The stair carpet needs a deep clean, the whole time we were there was soil from a nearby plant spilt over the carpet and not hoovered / cleaned up. The Roman blind in the bedroom was broken so couldn't be opened. The en-suite is very dirty. Water marks over everything showing how little it had been wiped / cleaned. The shower was covered in mould. It's such a shame as the hotel has so much going for it - location and decor mainly but also most staff members seemed pretty good. Food was also very disappointing- we had dinner and breakfast and both were of very poor quality meat / ingredients. We were very limited with where we could eat and stay due to an event at Blenheim. I really hope things improve at this hotel as it could be great.

Enjoyed are stay. Really liked the wallpaper in breakfast room. Orangery style room was lovely. Bedroom very nice. Good hairdryer. Nice to have bath and bubble bath too. Only issue was room very warm. Fan was provided. Breakfast was also good.

Hotel entrance & reception could do with looking smarter, but sraircase & landings were better. The rooms were well equipped & clean, the beds comfortable, good supplies of tea, coffee, real milk in pods, biscuits ets. The shower room was small but well equipped and clean. All the staff, reception, waitress, cleaner were friendly polite and happy to help. Location in the centre of Woodstock so some traffic passing through at night. Blenheim Palace very close by. My son & I had a positive experience at the Kings Arms. It was very good value for money.
