The hosts had thought of everything to make our stay comfortable - lovely bright rooms, well stocked kitchen, plush linens and towels, within walking distance of all restaurants and shops and a beautiful stream and lawn outside! Excellent!
Our stay was ideal. Our third time staying at Brooks Cottage. The home is spacious and cozy, the kitchen very well equipped and the setting beautiful and all just a quick walk to the center of Woodstock. Highly recommend for those wanting to be "in town" yet in a very private and quite setting.
We loved the house and the beautiful backyard with a stream running behind it and a Weber grill. We stayed with our 5 month-old puppy who did great. We actually cooked dinner a couple of nights and baked cookies and all the cookware is top-notch as are all of the other amenities. One thing we did not know when booking was there is another rental attached to the other side of the house (I probably missed this in the description). We never heard them, but you do share a driveway and front yard, so it is not a completely private stay if that is important to you.
My partner and I absolutely loved Brook Cottage. The pictures in the listing are very accurate. From the moment we walked in we felt at home. The cottage is warm, cozy, and very clean. The location couldnât be better- weâd walk to the market and bakery everyday. We enjoyed cooking more than going out. Judy and Chelsea were attentive and easy to communicate with. We were able to really unplug and slow down, we had an absolutely wonderful stay.
We were very happy with this property. Found the kitchen to be well equipped and up to date. Beds were very comfortable. We had a very comfortable week.
My wife and I drove up to Woodstock for a last minute spa weekend. Our stay at Brook Cottage was great! The location is an easy walk into town and the cottage is very cozy. It snowed the first night and the woods/brook were very scenic. Chelsea made check in/out simple and was quick with communication. I would absolutely recommend the Book Cottage to future guests.
The cottage was very private even with the adjoining unit. It was very clean and well stocked. Easy walk to stores and restaurants. Would definitely stay there again. Would be beautiful in the fall.
The house is truly wonderful, thoughtfully appointed and extremely comfortable. Its location in Woodstock is almost ideal: set back from the busy main road, with a big back lawn facing woods, yet an easy walk to everything you might need, including a nature preserve. Judy graciously supplied some items I requested. CAVEATS: The nearby Station Barâs live music is not limited to weekends and random occasions as I was led to believe but rather, âalmost every night of the weekâ as the barâs website proclaims and as I experienced for hours every evening. Because the stream was bone dry due to drought â my greatest disappointment â there was no âflowing brookâ sound to mitigate the music, or to enjoy. (Immediately after booking, I wrote to ask if the stream was active saying âIâm counting on itâ and was told âIâll checkâ. When no one got back to me, I assumed all was well; that assumption cost me. Once there, I decided to make the best of it.) If these concerns are important to you, best to do your homework before booking.
I took a solo trip to Woodstock for my birthday in February. Unfortunately, there was an ice storm that knocked out electricity in the entire area one day before I was supposed to arrive. The host was lovely and accommodating â she offered to refund any lost days or extend my stay. The house itself was just as described. Cozy, clean, spacious, etc. I highly recommend it!
This was a wonderful location, and the property was beautiful. It is exactly as described, and Judy, the property manager, and Chelsea, her assistant were very helpful. Iâd love to return in the fall!
The cottage had everything we needed. Beautiful space as pictured. Quality linens, appliances, etc. We could easily walk to town for shopping, meals, etc. We would definitely stay again.
