The host never revealed that the home was occupied by others on basement. We assumed from ad it was the entire house. You could smell pot coming from basement. Amenities were bare bones. No shampoo. Just generic bar soap. No cooking staples like oil or butter to cook with. So once you arrive you have to make a grocery store run for staples that are usually in rentals we have been in. Other than those minor inconveniences it was great,
The host was very friendly and responded quickly to all our inquaries. The place was very clean and homey. There was plenty of room and the showers were great and water was hot. Plenty of towels for all (8 adults). Beds were comfortable as well. We did have a few issues which we did let the owner know about and hopefully he will consider them. The back and side doors could be a little more secure and while it was a big driveway the guest do not have full use of it and some had to park on the street. I would rate this with 5 stars if it were not for the issues we had.
The house is lovely. We enjoyed our stay. We had a few issues. The kitchen needed silverware. There were six adults and four forks. The house sleeps 8 and there were seven plates. We bought paper plates and plastic utensils so that solved that problem. The water in the kitchen got really hot but the water in the showers wouldn't. We took barely warm showers quickly. I had trouble getting in touch with the host. I had gotten the address to the house but not the lock box code. It took most of the four hour ride to the house to get the code. But in the end we had a nice time. We were comfortable and safe.
