Beautiful hotel lovely staff an excellent breakfast. Easy walking into York centre with lots of lovely pubs along the way. Would definitely visit again.

It has to be admitted the hotel is a maze which makes it difficult to find rooms when first you seek them. The car park is an asset. However it can be difficult to manoeuvrer a car and it is easy to be blocked in. The rooms are every thing you could hope for: quiet, comfortable and clean. the choice for breakfast was all I could ask for.

City hotel close to railway station which was the reason we left the car at home.York city center20 mins walk approx. Room fine for our needs as a base for sightseeing in York Breakfast choice excellent and the staff very helpful.Upon departure we left our luggage at the hotel until our train departure was imminent.

Staff friendly and helpful. Only criticism is that the staff were too quick to remove any crockery at breakfast. I was part of a group and we weren’t able to have a breakfast without a member of staff coming between us to take away an empty yogurt pot or plate. It spoilt what was otherwise a relaxing break.

The hotel has been newly renovated. The rooms are lovely and modern. Breakfast was delicious. The hotel is a short walk from the train station and within walking distance of most attractions within York

Weekend break

Excellent hotel. Must have been recently refurbished as everything fresh and modern. Friendly staff - all helpful. Room itself clean and bed comfortable. Location good - 10 mins walk to the train station and York itself. Nice cafe/restaurants on doorstep. Went to the Italian opposite in the evening and pasta was delicious and reasonably priced. Yes great hotel especially for the price paid (they offer cheap deals).

3 nights stay

Arrived from Glasgow on Thursday 1st time in this hotel , hotel is lovely and very clean. Was given room 311 , facing car park. Was up till after 4am with the noise from the fans outside, was awful!! Sounded like it was vibrating through the bed with the droning noise. At 7.am approx I could hear a staff member banging a room door asking for room inspection then within seconds fire alarm went off , obviously not staff members fault but they were right on whatever the problem was. Went to reception explained problem with fans or air con units whatever it is and girl said wasn't a problem, was moved to now face side street and it was silent thank god. Girl dealt with the problem swiftly and we stayed there another 2 nighta. Still gave 5 stars as was no way the hotels fault and loved our stay, would definitely return.
