A pleasant experience for my 1 night stay. The service, the comfort, the food were all on point with little to criticise. A perfect spot if you are visiting York or nearby towns by vehicle as there was ample parking available on-site that is in close proximity to the living lodges.
The check-in and check-out process were seamless and efficient. What I felt was extra memorable was the meal at the hotel's pub restaurant which slightly exceeded my expectations. The lamb pie in particular was rather engaging as when I had cut into the pie, a perfume of that inviting gamey aroma gives that immediate expression of rustic nostalgia. The tender well cooked meat that is seasoned thoughtfully did not disappoint the beautiful aroma that had set the scene. Overall it was a pleasant meal that was fulfilling, well-valued and felt authentic. The breakfast was adequate but definitely paled in energy relatively. However, the service throughout my stay was exceptional, where staff was both professional and welcoming, which greatly enhanced my overall experience and I greatly appreciates.
