We booked a junior suite for 2 adults and 2 children. The rooms were large and the bathroom was huge with a large jacuzzi tub with jets and colored lights that the kids loved! Breakfast had lots of delicious options. Hotel is on a walking street lined with tons of cute restaurants and shops.

The hotel was convenient to lots of dining options and was in a great location. The front desk staff were so helpful. The underground parking was great. The hotel needs a major renovation. Everything looked old. The AC was spotty and the room was warm. The breakfast was decent but nowhere near as good as the ones we had in Dubrovnik and Split.

There are good things and bad things about the Academia. I stayed for 3 nights but would have left after first except that I’d prepaid and couldn’t get my money back. The biggest negative issue is that WiFi is abysmal. It works on the main floor, but on the 3rd floor (where my room was) the WiFi was intermittent and weak. I couldn’t get any work done and eventually gave up. The 2nd problem was that my room was boiling hot. The thermostat in the room didn’t work, and I had to go to the front desk to ask them to lower the temperature. I ended up sleeping with the window open even though my room was on a busy street. On the positive side, the breakfast is excellent.

This hotel is very well-located within walking distance of most of Zagreb's attractions. Parking is conveniently located in an underground garage. Its comfortable and clean. There is no valet to help with luggage. The hotel is plainly decorated just so your not surprised.

Great location and service

Superb location to do plenty of walking. Free parking for us (maybe had to do with Hotels.com status thought). LOTS of storage inthe room for hanging and storing clothes and belongings. Very safe. Excellent and helpful staff. The only thing was there was no coffee/tea service in the room, but that was probably communicated on the listing.
