This was a great house is a quiet neighborhood, yet we were close to Jim Thorpe, where we spent a lot of time. Also close to Penn's Peak, where we enjoyed a show. Our host, Virginia, was very responsive to my questions. My only negatives were that there were no washcloths, hand towels, or kitchen towels.
Nice house, although the steps were a little steep going up and down. Enjoyed our stay though, was easy to come and go as we pleased, and explore Jim Thorpe!
The house was alright. There is no air conditioning on the first floor and only air conditioning in two of the bedrooms. There were "crumbs" in the sheets and hair in the bathrooms. They charge extra if you use their trashcans. There were some damages to the home when we arrived (drywall, drawers, closets). Make sure you fully vet out the entire building before and document all of the damages and uncleanlyness when you arrive. If not, they will charge you an exuberant amount of money in repairs for damages that were already there.
Super-clean, lovely house. We stayed in the neighborhood before and really like it. So we were happy to find another home to rent for a bike ride weekend in Jim Thorpe. Lots of deer and other wildlife. Very quiet. The house is well equipped. The host is very responsive. I couldn't figure out how to use the Samsung tv remote and she helped me immediately. Easy access to restaurants too. We ate at Boulderview Tavern and Thorpe's 903, both of which were excellent. Highly recommend the house and location!
My husband, daughter (3), and I stayed for a weekend to get away from the city. The house was beautiful and had lots of creature comforts and amenities. Our daughter had a lot of fun in the yard watching the deer. Very quiet, and comfortable. Host was very helpful and clear. Also very friendly! Would stay again. A
I donât know that you had to look to see if the house had ac but it didnât the mailbox was knocked over so I could find the house the boards on the front porch was up with the nails sticking out and the fridge keep beeping cause the power went out and I told them and they didnât do anything about it and the patio couch looked dirty. They didnât upkeep there property so I asked them for a refund but they said no it was out of the time frame but I really do think that we deserve a refund because of the property
Virginia was great with communication and answered so quick for all of our questions! The property was exactly as advertised and very clean. The house has great parking, a lot of room, and amazing for a getaway. The location is right near so many activities like waterfalls, biking, kayaking, paintball, etc. Also if you like nature like myself you can enjoy the local deer passing through the yard! I will definitely be back again!
We found this cute house that is in a great location. It was so open and airy and felt so comfortable. Great neighborhood and host was quick to answer any questions!
The house in the woods with all amenities and deer foraging in the backyard.
This is the first time in such a house. Quite literally a wooded area still with residences on all sides.
The host is a special person, very organized and prompt in answering queries.
The house itself was quite cozy and well equipped and comfortable,
More importantly, it is quite near to a lot of sightseeing and tourist locations.
I would highly suggest to anyone choosing to stay here that they protect themselves against the hosts fraudulent claims. At the end of my stay the host asked us to collect all of the blankets and quilts and put them in front of the washer and dryer so we did. 3 days later I receive a charge of $65 for a âmissing quiltâ when there was no chance the quilt could have been lost and I most certainly did not take it. It would seem the host is quite comfortable lying for the extra money. The house also has mice that leave droppings all throughout the kitchen area and the Wi-Fi is unusable.
The check in process was smooth and Virginia responded quickly to any questions and always provided adequate directions. The space was bright and open and the kitchen was stocked for basic cooking needs.
Annual Family ski trip so we booked the home based on location close to Big Boulder (15 min), Jack Frost (30 min) and Blue Mountain (30 min) ski resorts. House is newly renovated and was super clean! Even my teen boys were surprised at how clean and nice it was! Lots of info provided as to local restaurants and activities and convenient binder of house information. A generous basket of snacks was waiting for us on arrival, which again my teens appreciated. Kitchen had all needed supplies to cook and lots of extras available like kitchen towels, spices, and even a rice cooker. Plenty of blankets, towels and bathroom supplies and even full size toiletries. All bedrooms had separate thermostats which was great. Landlord was very attentive and responsive. No issues at all, which made for a relaxing stay. We cannot wait to return as this was simply the best rental we have ever had in the Poconos.
