We enjoyed a brief family reunion at this cabin in the tiny town of Ferncliff, just 20 min south of Estes Park. The bathrooms are updated, the beds were comfortable, the backyard turf was nice for yard games. Hiking nearby. The cabin is very rustic and rugged. It fit our needs.
Our family ranging in age from 3 to 80 spent a week here during the Christmas holidays. We loved the cabin vibe, large living spaces, and modern conveniences. The bathrooms are beautifully updated as are the kitchen appliances. The host provided some holiday decorations for us and we enjoyed hours of games and movies in the common spaces. We had a great stay!
As promised, this large cabin is nestled in the mountains in a tiny town away from the hustle-n-bustle of tourism. The kitchen/dining/living space and each of the 5 bedrooms were spacious enough for a multi-family get-together. There were plenty of dishes, silverware and glasses + a fully equipped kitchen for cooking meals (but no microwave to nuke any leftovers - instead, there is a toaster oven). The kitchen and 2 showers are beautifully remodeled. Bathrooms are a bit limited on space but well stocked with shampoo/conditioner/body wash/facial tissue/bath tissue. The hot tub and wood fireplace were the highlights for us; however, one of the hot tub's jets was malfunctioning so only half the hot tub bubbled. **IMPORTANT: I highly recommend you do ALL of your grocery and supply shopping before coming; once you arrive, your retail options are very limited. Understandably, firewood from the shop across the street is limited to 3 small bundles per day. Bring water; a 24pk of bottled water at the shop was pricey. ALSO, be sure to screenshot the door passcode when you receive it; there's NO CELL SERVICE to check your email or instructions or make calls once you arrive to the cabin (there is wifi once you get in). I plugged "Ferncliff Food & Fuel" into GPS and got there with no problems. The host was more than accommodating, quick to address questions and concerns. My only regret is that our trip was cut short unexpectedly so we didn't get to enjoy the cabin beyond the first night.
We spent a week at this cabin on June. We liked having a quieter spot that was still only a quick drive to all the activities in Estes. The hosts were very helpful and responsive to anything we needed during our stay. WiFi worked well in the cabin, beds were comfortable, bathrooms were beautiful and showers with the rain shower head felt so good after a day of hiking. We are so grateful for the week of family memories that were made this past week!
