If you are going to advertise and list your hotel with hotels.com you need to train your staff to work with the organization. I use hotels.com all the time with chain hotels but occasionally when I stay at a smaller hotel like this there is an issue where a reservation doesn’t show up. I was treated rudely by the FOH staff and told that it was my problem that my reservation didn’t go through and that I had to call hotels.com to work it out. If you as an organization are going to contract through hotels/expedia, then you are responsible for having communication with them, not the hotel guest. After 1.25 hrs sitting in your lobby with hungry kids and a wife who was missing her appointment, your FOH staff did indeed discover that the reservation was sitting in an email inbox on a separate computer. The fact that she was rude instead of apologetic is just kind of bush league. Train your staff dude.
