Welcome to the Cottage on Crockett. This charming home is great for the whole family! Huge master bedroom with a king size bed, large dressing area and master bath with whirlpool tub/shower. Large living and dining for your large gatherings. Kitchen and breakfast room equipped with all the essentials. Two bedrooms, bathroom with tub and living space upstairs. Large fully fenced yard with deck. Conveniently located in central Amarillo. Just fifteen minutes from the airport.
The space
This unique home is ready for your family reunions, wedding showers, baby showers, bridal weekends, girls night in, little girls birthday parties, honeymoon and anniversary get aways! We do not allow all night wild parties with people coming in and out at all hours of the night. This is a home in a quiet neighborhood with elderly neighbors. Please respect our home and our neighbors.

We liked the house and the feel of the antiques and original paintings. I would recommend that you list in your VRBO pictures that the basement is extra. The only information showing the basement costs more, is one sentence at the bottom of lengthy description of the house. While going through the process of reserving and paying for the home, all written information showed 4 bedrooms. This is not true and it doesnt show where you can add the extra bedroom during the payment process. The extra area was needed for our stay but we made it through the stay without it.

RENTER BEWARE! BAIT & SWITCH PROPERTY!Property is advertised as a 4 bedroom unit, but also says there are fees for pets and for access to the 4th room. When asked about whether or not the pet fees are included in the advertised price, owner responded with, "all fees are included". I naturally assumed that meant the additional fee for access to the 4th room was also included, but it is not included. When I asked the owner about there only being 3 rooms, they responded with the additional room rental fee and additional cleaning fee, or to use the mini futon upstairs, which was broken. I messaged the owner with my disagreance for the ethics behind their business model only to receive specs of the property in an attempt to justify their asking price. My argument was that their asking price is the same as the other 4 bedroom units I had booked throughout our family road trip, but that they're only offering 3 bedrooms.This place is not worth the money being asked for it. It honestly looks like a crackhouse from the outside with horribly overgrown landscaping outside, missing paint & rotted wood all around the outside of the house, and half accomplished backyard projects that are treacherous for children and pets. The inside is horribly worn out, even has broken blinds. It seems as if this owner bought this property, slapped some decor inside, and ignored all the actual needs of the property. As a fellow vacation property owner....I would NEVER stay here again

The host was responsive. The house was roomy and the bed (especially in the master suite was super comfy.) It's an historical home so there were a few things that still needed a little updating still but overall, it was a wonderful place. Very eclectic and charming. Clean and well stocked. We had a lovely stay!

The house is in a great location - quiet, established neighborhood but close to lots of amenities. The landscaping on the property was a bit overgrown. The back yard was large and there was furniture but the cushions were worn and dirty or missing. The house was large and spacious. It was generally clean but there was quite a bit of dust under the beds and on wall hangings. The kitchen was well equipped however an outlet near the stove was loose and the oven older. The house could be amazing with just a bit more upkeep, however, our stay was pleasant, the hosts were kind, check-in was easy. Overall, a good stay.

Not great communication. It took days and multiple requests to get another night added to our reservation. I asked the morning of check-in for the code to get in and was told to wait closer to check-in. I had to ask again after check-in time. This was obviously a bit stressful since host wasn't always responding well to messages. Additional room is 50/night plus 25 cleaning fee and is absolutely not worth it. Basically just an old spring bed in a concert room. No useable closet/water/etc. Wifi is good throughout, and kitchen is stocked. Lights/fans are low so watch your head. Water heater seems high so watch your skin. Beds are all old loud spring mattresses. But if you're just a couple who needs nothing from the host then it's great!

I always enjoy staying over in Amarillo

I always enjoy traveling through Amarillo. It is always nice to stay in a house that has everything you need for a short stay. The AC was wonderful. We were traveling to Santa Fe for a 8 night stay. We often travel to Colorado too. Amarillo and VRBO homes like this make travel through Amarillo pleasant and restful.

Birthday Celebration

This is a very lovely home! It was very spacious and had a nice layout to meet everyone’s needs. It was 4th of July so the downside was fireworks until 4:30am but that’s not the owner’s fault. The upstairs air conditioning was struggling and I reached out to the property contact where we were able to work together and get it up and going again. I did love the fact that although she didn’t know me we worked together quite nicely and it wasn’t a big deal at all. I recommend OFF because of all the rain the mosquitoes were attacking but once again not the owner’s fault just something to consider if you plan on staying there. I would stay here again for sure!

Vintage Cottage

The location was okay and central to where we were wanting to stay. Merlina was terrific to work with. The cottage is in need of some serious LOVE. The smell was absolutely stagnant when we arrived and we were unable to open any windows. :-( The home is old and outdated, the kitchen has old appliances, the microwave door is broken, the wooden blinds have MANY that are broken so when you open them they fall. The bathroom drain was super slow and the handle on the master toilet was broken so you had to "jiggle" it to stop running. The fenced in yard was nice EXCEPT there was junk everywhere and needs some TLC. A quiet neighborhood (which we enjoyed). After we purchased some candles and a fan we were able to get the smell down so we could actually enjoy our second(final) night. I would encourage the listing to be updated.

Beautiful Home, Great Host

Everything was great here, an older home, but beautiful. The house was huge and had many older elements that made it charming. The rooms were tastefully designed and all the cabinets were fully stocked. We had a family get together here and it was the perfect location for our little get together. On top of that there was a power outage (someone hit a transformer) and the host was on the phone within minutes helping me locate the flashlights and emergency candles. Definitely will rent again!

Spacious rooms. Loved that it had a circle drive, so we could pull right up to the porch to unload.

Old house charm. Nice fenced backyard for your doggy. They appeared to offer all major streaming channels on their TV. Loved the wood floors.
