I feel like I stayed in a different hotel than the ratings. This hotel is renovated and it was done cheaply both in the lobby and the room we stayed in. The bed was hard as a rock. There was always a smell in the elevator, and there was some horrible smell throughout the entire 2nd floor hallway that thankfully didnt travel inside the room or we would have had to change. I'll personally seek other options on our next trip to Ames.

We stayed for a football game. The room was clean and newer looking. Easy access to the bus line. Breakfast was decent.
